  • Patent number: 9221011
Abstract: The invention relates to a method adapted for integration with a carbonate absorption/stripping process for removal of carbon dioxide, the method and system including the steps of: converting a source of alkali from a first industry to a non-carbonate alkali; feeding the non-carbonate alkali as makeup to a carbonate absorption system for stripping carbon dioxide from emissions from a second industry; recovering an output from the system for stripping carbon dioxide, and in the process of conversion of the alkali from the first industry, utilising energy from the second industry.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 15, 2011
Date of Patent: December 29, 2015
    Assignee: REDEEM CCS PTY LTD

  • Publication number: 20120053661
Abstract: A wearable device configured as an article of apparel is used for warming a body part having a core such as a hand palm and an extremity such as a finger The wearable device has a circulatory system containing a heat transfer fluid, tubes located next to the extremity for heat transfer from the tubes to the extremity, and chamber located next to the core for heat transfer from the core to the fluid in the chamber. The circulatory system has a pump operable in response to movement of the body part to pump the heat transfer fluid around the circulatory system.

  • Patent number: 6511646
Abstract: A process for producing chlorine and iron oxide from iron chloride (which may be generated as a by-product of the direct chlorination of titaniferous ores) comprises the steps of converting ferrous chloride to ferric chloride by reaction with chlorine, separating the solids from the gaseous products, reacting the gaseous ferric chloride with oxygen, condensing unreacted ferric chloride onto iron oxide particles, separating the gaseous products from the iron oxide particles and recycling the iron oxide particles to the oxidation or condensation step.

  • Patent number: 4419757
Abstract: A system for generating a drift-free three-level pulse signal from a two-level input signal involves an improvement over prior art in that output transformers are eliminated. This system is compatible with integrated circuit techniques using solid state logic elements in conjunction with a capacitor-resistor combination at the output.
