    Abstract: A catheter system for positioning of a medical instrument that includes a first elongate member having a first lumen. The catheter system also includes a second elongate member that includes a second lumen that receives the medical instrument. The second elongate member is coupled directly to the first elongate member, and the second elongate member is operable to be at least partially segmented generally along a second longitudinal axis thereof to allow movement of the medical instrument outside the second lumen. The second elongate member is selectively collapsible and expandable to change a size of the second lumen.
