    Abstract: A centrifugal impact crusher has an enclosed table to ensure that substantially all the material deposited on the table is impacted against the anvils that surround the table. The table includes spaced-apart upper and lower plates that have radially oriented impellers sandwiched between them to direct material being thrown off of the table by centrifugal force to exit the table at the proper angle to achieve maximum fracture upon striking the anvils. The impellers have projecting tabs which fit into receptacles in the upper and lower plates and the plates are squeezed together to hold the tabs in the receptacles and lock the plates and impellers together in a rigid table assembly. The upper plate has a central opening through which material is deposited onto the table. A funnel directs material fed into the crusher through an infeed plenum and into the central opening in the upper plate to ensure that all of the material reaches the table.

    Abstract: A plurality of generally wedge-shaped anvils, for use in a centrifugal impact rock crushing machine, line the inner wall of a containment housing. A bracket supports the anvils in the vertical direction; the inner periphery of the housing prevents the radially outward movement of the anvils and reaction forces from two adjacent anvils prevents the radially inward movement of the intervening anvil. The significant advantages of this configuration are the absence of connective means--thus eliminating a common failure mode, and the spreading of the impact forces against the anvils over a large surface area defined by the radially inward and side surfaces at the anvils.

The mouth of the feed chute periodically moves downward to partially surround the feed cone to vertically distribute radial flow of material being crushed and thereby reduce concentration of impeller shoe and anvil face wear during crushing of uniformly sized gravel.

    Abstract: A seal located between the upper end of the pedestal and the drive shaft which is journaled therein on a rotary centrifugal impact rock crusher is comprised of a seal holder which is arranged for being press fit into the top of the pedestal. The holder has a central cylindrical bore, with a diameter which is greater than the drive shaft, through which the drive shaft extends. Accordingly, an oil seal snugly fills the gap between the housing and the drive shaft to prevent foreign material from contaminating the oil which is circulated through the pedestal for lubrication of the bearings in which the drive shaft is journaled. A grease passageway extends through the pedestal and holder so that grease can be injected into a cavity formed above the oil seal to protect the oil seal and to prevent it from becoming contaminated by foreign material such as crushed rock.

    Abstract: Lifter for remotely removing the lid from a rock crusher is comprised of cylindrical support and lifting arms integrally joined normally to one another, and a tubular sleeve bearing which is attached generally vertically to the outer wall of the crusher shell a spaced distance therefrom, and which is configured for slideably and rotatably journaling the lifting arm. The support arm is attached to the lid thereby causing the lid to be lifted and rotated away from the crusher shell to expose the operative elements of the crusher upon respective lifting and rotation of the lifting arm. A hydraulically actuated piston cylinder mounted to the crusher frame below the lower end of the sleeve bearing, in a manner for insertion of its ram therein, is interconnected to the lifting arm through a thrust bearing for raising and lowering of the lifting arm and allowing its rotation in the sleeve bearing.

    Abstract: Centrifugal impact crusher machines have a rotating impeller table on which are mounted table liners and shoes for directing rock, or other material to be crushed, dispersed by a centrally mounted feed cone positioned on the rotating table outwardly against stationary anvils. The herein disclosed machine is comprised of impeller shoes which are removably attached to table mounted brackets by means of pins for facilitating quick easy removal and which have tapered working faces for promoting even wear and longer life. The impeller table liners are portioned respectively into first segments, which are positioned beneath and forwardly adjacent to their associated shoes and held down by the weight thereof, and second segments having lips which are arranged for fitting under the table feed cone, thus permitting these former segments to be replaced without need for replacement of the latter segments and both segments to be removed quickly.
