    Abstract: Apparatus for use with a vessel used to generate plasma are provided. One apparatus includes a first comb structure configured to partially wrap around a circumference of the vessel. The first comb structure has a first end and a second end, and a first separation is defined between the first end and the second end. The first comb structure defines a first plurality of fingers oriented perpendicular to the circumference of the vessel. The first comb structure is configured to be connected to a first end of a radio frequency (RF) coil. Also provided is a second comb structure configured to partially wrap around the circumference of the vessel. The second comb structure has a first end and a second end. A second separation is defined between the first end and the second end the second comb structure. The second comb structure defines a second plurality of fingers oriented perpendicular to the circumference of the vessel. The second comb structure is configured to be connected to a second end of the RF coil.

    Abstract: An apparatus for firing and combusting syngas is described. The apparatus comprises a vessel having a first chamber with an inlet for receiving syngas from a gasifier, an ignition chamber provided with an auxiliary burner to ignite the diluted syngas; a combustion chamber provided with an inlet for introducing a combustion agent for combusting the ignited syngas and a retention chamber for retaining the resulting combustion products for a predetermined residence period, the retention chamber being provided with an outlet for withdrawing said combustion products. The first chamber is configured to receive a diluent fluid to dilute the syngas to a predetermined composition below a lower explosive limit (LEL). Preferably the diluent fluid is an oxygen-containing gas.

    Abstract: This invention relates to compositions including antibacterial compounds. The invention also relates to the use of the compositions in methods of treating bacterial infections. In one aspect the present invention also provides a method of increasing the susceptibility of bacteria to the anti-bacterial activity of a compound, the method comprising contacting the bacteria with a star shaped peptide polymer of the invention, thereby increasing the susceptibility of the bacteria to the anti-bacterial activity of the compound. Preferably, the method further includes the step of contacting the bacteria with the compound for which the bacteria have increased susceptibility to. The invention is further relates to the combination of a star shaped peptide polymer and an anti-bacterial compound that restore the sensitivity of antibiotic resistant bacteria to antibiotics that are otherwise ineffective when administered alone.

    Abstract: The illustrative embodiments pertain to a test fixture having low insertion inductance for large bandwidth monitoring of current signals. In one exemplary embodiment, the test fixture includes a baseplate with each resistor of a set of resistors embedded inside a respective non-plated through slot in the baseplate. A first terminal of each resistor is soldered to a top metallic zone of the baseplate and a second terminal soldered to a first of two bottom metallic zones of the baseplate. The top metallic zone is connected by plated-through holes to a second of the two bottom metallic zones. When mounted upon a PCB, the test fixture allows current flow from the first bottom metallic zone, upwards through the set of resistors to the top metallic zone, and downwards to the second bottom metallic zone. An observation instrument may be coupled to a coaxial connector that is mounted on the baseplate.
