  • Publication number: 20120279788
Abstract: A weighing device draft shield having at least one linearly displaceable wall (e.g., side wall) for allowing access into a weighing compartment of the weighing device. Each displaceable wall is provided with a top guide rail that passes through a roller assembly. Each displaceable wall is suspended in a substantially vertical position by engagement of its guide rail with a corresponding roller assembly. An adjustment element may be provided to alter the position of certain rollers of the roller assembly such that the orientation of the corresponding guide rail and attached displaceable wall may be adjusted to account for dimensional variations of the enclosure, etc. The use of a guide rail and roller assembly facilitates displaceable wall movement by substantially eliminating sliding friction.

  • Publication number: 20110008658
Abstract: A battery compartment and a battery-powered device utilizing the battery compartment. When installed to a battery-powered device, the battery compartment cavity and housed battery are maintained completely separate from the electronics of the battery-powered device. Therefore, a battery-powered device may be powered using a battery compartment of the present invention without concern that leaked electrolyte or emitted gas will enter the electronics portion of the device. A battery compartment of the present invention may also allow any built up electrolyte and/or gas to safely exit the battery compartment while simultaneously preventing or significantly inhibiting infiltration of the battery compartment by external substances.

  • Patent number: 6920781
Abstract: A gravimetric moisture-determination instrument which is cooled by an air stream includes a housing containing a balance and a radiant heater. The moisture content of a sample placed on the balance pan is determined by measuring the weight loss of the sample while it is being dried under the heater. The gravimetric moisture-determination instrument further includes a heat source located above the balance for heating the sample in order to evaporate the moisture from the sample, so that the moisture content can be determined from the weight loss of the sample. Between the heat source and the weighing cell of the balance, the instrument contains a device for conducting an air stream.

  • Publication number: 20010039831
Abstract: A measuring instrument (1) for gravimetric moisture determination consists of an instrument housing (2), a balance (3) installed in the instrument housing, and a radiant heater (8). The moisture content of a sample on a tray placed on the tray carrier (5) is determined by measuring the weight loss of the sample while it is being dried under the heater. The instrument is equipped with means for conducting an air stream generated by a fan (12) through the space between the sample tray carrier (5) and the weighing cell (21). The air-conducting means include an air duct that can be at least partially released from the instrument housing for cleaning.
