Abstract: An assembly for gel electrophoresis includes a gel cassette and a comb. The gel cassette includes a retainer plate and a divider plate coupled to form a cavity therebetween. The comb includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end, an intermediate portion connected to the elongated body and extending between the first and second ends, the intermediate portion having a third end adjacent the first end and a fourth end adjacent the second end, and a plurality of teeth extending from the intermediate portion. The plurality of teeth is spaced apart from at least one of the third end and the fourth end. In response to the comb being received in the gel cassette, the intermediate portion is received in the cavity such that the third and the fourth ends are configured to engage an internal edge of the cavity.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems for gel electrophoresis and electrotransfer comprising one or more chambers that can removably and interchangeably receive either an electrophoresis cassette, or an electrotransfer cassette, and provides an electrical interface for both electrophoresis and electrotransfer of biomolecules. The present disclosure also provides electrophoresis devices including clamps and electrotransfer cassettes and related devices. Methods for electrophoresis and electrotransfer using the systems and devices of the disclosure are also provided.

Abstract: A female-molded double-walled underground storage tank is provided with an annulus of reduced thickness, defined by a plastic film. The film separates the inner and outer walls of the tank, providing an annulus which can be monitored to monitor the tank for failure of either the inner or the outer tank, before contamination of the exterior environment. The tank is formed of fiberglass reinforced plastic, the inner and outer walls thereof being tied together by fiberglass reinforced plastic which holds the annular film in place. The domes of the outer and inner shell are separated due to a layer of wax and alcohol applied to the inner surface of the dome of the exterior tank prior to formation of the interior tank. The spaces between the flats of the two tanks, the domes of the two tanks, and the interior of the ribs of the exterior tank are placed in fluid communication by gutters running along the length of the tank.
