  • Patent number: 5178615
Abstract: An ostomy bag coupling appliance has body side and bag side couplings each including a seal means. The bag side coupling includes one ring like member carrying the seal means associated with a locking ring which can be rotated relative to the member. The locking ring and the body side coupling have interengaging parts whereby upon relative rotational movement (about the axis of the coupling) these cooperating parts can be engaged and disengaged so locking together, or allowing to be released, as the case may be, the body side and bag side couplings.

  • Patent number: 4986824
Abstract: A bagside coupling for an ostomy bag is intended to cooperate with a filter cartridge. Inserting the filter cartridge in a suitable recess results in establishing connection between the interior of the bag and the exterior. Escaping gases are constrained to pass through filter material in the filter cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4963136
Abstract: An ostomy coupling has two co-operating coupling elements. One is for attachment to a medical grade adhesive and the other is for attachment to an ostomy pouch. Each element is of close loop form and includes a tapering member extending around a stomal orifice. Each such member tapers in a radially outward direction and has a flat surface located in a plane at right angles to the coupling axis. The coupling also has a means of clamping which can be tightened onto the tapering members to hold them together. When held their respective flat surfaces are in face-to-face arrangement. Hence, two coupling elements can be held together and released without the application of any axial pressure forces or pulling forces to the wearer of the ostomy appliance.

  • Patent number: 4834732
Abstract: A three part ostomy coupling has a first part having a flange, a central chute and an array of space projections. A second part has a peripheral seal for engaging and surrounding the outer wall of the chute an outwardly projecting rim which can be snap fitted on the space projection. A third part is rotatable to effect a positive lock between the rim the projections, for example by deforming the projections inwardly.
