  • Patent number: 10621619
Abstract: In accordance with some of the gift messaging based customer acquisition methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media that are described herein, a message for a gift recipient is determined in connection with a gift based on input from a first network node associated with a gift giver. A message notification that includes access information for accessing the gift message is generated. The access information is associated with the message. A request that includes the access information is received from a second network node associated with the gift recipient. Responsive to the request, the message is transmitted to the second network node based on the association between the access information and the message, and auxiliary customer acquisition information is transmitted to the second network node.

  • Patent number: 10521795
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for using a software as a service (“SaaS”) product. The systems and methods request, in response to receiving a request to purchase a software as a service product, a user identifier. Additionally, in response to receiving the user identifier, the systems and methods enable a completed purchase of the SaaS product with a provisional account associated with the user identifier. Furthermore, the systems and methods prevent use of the software as a service product through the provisional account and, in response to a completed purchase of the software as a service product, request a creation of a user credential. Upon receiving the user credential, the systems and methods convert the provisional account into a permanent account associated with the user identifier and user credential and enable use of the SaaS product through the permanent account.

  • Publication number: 20190346929
Abstract: A gesture control system is provided having multiple attention levels. The gesture control system monitors for events based on the current attention level that it is in, while being free to ignore events at other attention levels. In an initial attention level, the gesture control system may monitor for an event to cause it to transition to an active state comprising a second attention level. In the second attention level, the gesture control system may monitor for a user gesture to perform an action on an electronic device. Upon detecting the user gesture, the gesture control system may transition to a third attention level where it monitors for a voice command or other input that modifies the meaning of the user gesture. The gesture control system may then perform an action based on the user gesture and the voice command or other input.

  • Patent number: 10296102
Abstract: A method and system may be used to determine gestures of one or more users from a video. Motion may be detected in an image frame of a video, and the image frame may be cropped around the motion. Body pose estimation may be performed on the cropped image frame. The location of the user's hands may be determined from the body pose. Additional processing may be performed to identify hand gestures.

  • Patent number: 10241588
Abstract: A method and system may be used to provide a user interface allowing a user to identify electronic devices by placing bounding boxes on a video of scene. The bounding boxes may identify one or more electronic devices. Coordinates of the bounding boxes may be stored to allow determining when a user is gesturing towards one of the bounding boxes. The coordinates of the bounding boxes may be updated by a computer vision process that determines whether one or more electronic devices have been moved. When it is detected that a user is gesturing towards a bounding box, an electronic device associated with the bounding box may be controlled.

  • Publication number: 20180101867
Abstract: Contact information for a recipient and an audio recording of a message from a sender to the recipient are obtained from a network node in a communication session with a network node associated with the sender. Based on the contact information, a notification that the recorded audio message is available is sent the recipient. Based on receipt of a request in connection with the notification, an audio message including an invitation for the recipient to specify an opt-in preference regarding receipt of direct marketing communications is transmitted to the recipient. Receipt of an indication of the recipient's opt-in preference triggers both a playback of the audio recording of the message on the recipient's network node and the generation of a marketing preference record that includes an indication of the recipient's opt-in preference and information evidencing that indication.
