Abstract: The invention provides a p38 MAPK inhibitor of Formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof: for use in the treatment or prevention of hypercytokinemia in a human patient; wherein R is C1-3alkyl, optionally substituted by one or more halo, NR1R2 or hydroxy, and R1and R2 are independently H, halo or C1-3alkyl, optionally substituted by one or more F. Also provided are compositions for use in the treatment or prevention of hypercytokinemia comprising the p38 MAPK inhibitor of Formula I; and methods for treating or preventing hypercytokinemia in a human patient in need thereof comprising administering to the patient a therapeutically or prophylactically effective amount of a p38 MAPK inhibitor of Formula I. The invention also provides a p38 MAPK inhibitor and an antimicrobial agent, such as an antiviral agent, for use in the treatment or prevention of hypercytokinemia.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for deploying and/or retrieving a balloon configured to at least partially occlude a vessel, such as the coronary sinus. More particularly, embodiments of the present invention provide a stylet and a balloon catheter configured such that the stylet can be inserted into a lumen in the catheter and used to exert a force against an interior portion of the balloon in order to stretch the balloon and reduce the diameter of the balloon. In one embodiment, the stylet and the balloon both have specialty-configured tips that work together to prevent tearing of the balloon when the stylet is exerting a force against the interior of the balloon's tip.

Abstract: An aortic cannula tip for reintroducing blood into the blood stream via the aorta. The tip creates a soft flame-shaped flow pattern that reduces the chances of dislodging atheromatous or adherent thromba from the inside surfaces of the aorta. A gentle tapered shape allows the tip to penetrate a small incision made in the aorta without causing undo trauma or risk of tearing. The tip includes a circumferential ridge that allows the tip to be rotated and/or pivoted while in the aorta without breaking a seal formed between the ridge and the aortal wall. A secondary port provides access to a second lumen useable to deploy an intraaortic filtration system.

The turret may include a turret frame, a turret plate, and a turret shaft connecting the turret plate to the turret frame for rotation therewith. The turret shaft may include a pair of first connectors attached to the turret frame and a pair of second connectors attached to the turret wheel. Abstract: An automated drafting system particularly suitable for drafting textile strands of sliver is provided. The automated drafting system includes a synchronous drive sliver drafting roller system utilizing toothed gears in the preferred embodiment operatively connecting a pair of drafting rollers with one of the rollers being directly driven by a motor to thereby cause identical rotation of both rollers. The automated drafting system also includes a system for securing and pressuring together upper and lower sliver drafting rollers wherein the lower roller of a pair of drafting rollers is preferably maintained in a fixed but rotational position while the upper roller of the pair is pressured towards the lower roller and controllably restricted as to both horizontal and vertical movement during the drafting process.
