  • Publication number: 20090273334
Abstract: A system and method for providing automatic or semi-automatic identity association between an outlet of an intelligent power distribution unit and a target device, such as a computer server, which is powered by that outlet. The association is accomplished by enabling identification information to be transmitted between a memory device near or within the target device and the intelligent power distribution unit via a power cable. The power cable may include a specialized interface for mating with the power distribution unit and/or providing the identification information.

  • Publication number: 20090013056
Abstract: An integrated circuit is a baseboard management controller that is a fully integrated system-on-a-chip microprocessor incorporating function blocks and interfaces that provide remote management solution. The integrated circuit uses a microprocessor, a media co-processor to accelerate video processing, and a set of system and peripheral functions that are useful in a variety of remote management applications. It further includes an integrated USB high-speed device and an OTG interface to support keyboard, mouse and mass storage emulation without additional external components, and two integrated MII LAN interfaces and one FSB interface, a memory controller to support a variety of static and dynamic memory components, an encryption controller to ensure secure remote management sessions and IPMI2.0-compliant BMC interfaces. The integrated circuit is based on structured ASIC technology, which enables easy customization of function blocks according to customer demands or new industry standards.

  • Publication number: 20080279283
Abstract: A method for improving video quality of a video stream. The method decodes the video stream and generates subblocks of video data from the video stream. The method then removes effects of subblock boundaries from previous deblocking. Each subblock is then smoothed to create pixel values and optionally, subblocks are merged if a predetermined quality is not achieved from the smoothing analysis. The pixels values are filled into each pixel position in the subblock. The subblocks are deblocked and then at least one subblock is outputted to a rendering device.

  • Publication number: 20070245408
Abstract: An association between a system's in-band identification credentials with out-of-band identification credentials may arise by making a universal serial bus device emulation in the form of either a virtual mass storage device or a virtual network adaptor. In the case of the former, a machine readable name is decoded to determine which KVM port a target device is connected to. Such can be used to associate a system's known in-band identification credentials with decoded out-of-band identification credentials from the virtual mass storage device. In the case of the latter, the target may be searched and queried through an out-of-band path to ascertain in-band identification credentials.

  • Publication number: 20070115992
Abstract: A keyboard, video and mouse over an Internet Protocol (IP) switch in which the master and target interfaces share the same IP address and access to the target interfaces from the client is via a Transmission Control Protocol/IP network. The master is able to determine into which switch port the target interface is connected by reading media access control address tables of a switch chipset. Such provides immediate association for a target interface, i.e., the Ethernet port number.

  • Publication number: 20020097739
Abstract: Methods for broadband multimedia telecommunication include broadcasting a large selection of video streams via fiber optic to local switches which are coupled to customers by POTS lines and providing video streams, high QOS voice and VDSL data service from the local switch to customer premises. Signals from customer premises equipment communicate to the local switch to select up to four simultaneous video streams (out of hundreds available). According to the presently preferred embodiment, video, data, and digital voice service are provided via ATM cells to the local switch where they are multiplexed with lifeline POTS service and transmitted to the customer premises via ATM cells Multicast video streams are duplicated at the point in the switch closest to the customer.
