  • Patent number: 11964311
Abstract: The application relates to a cleaning system configured for cleaning of cavities filled with a liquid, including fragmentation, debridement, material removal, irrigation, disinfection, and decontamination. The cleaning system includes an electromagnetic radiation system and a liquid. A treatment handpiece irradiates the liquid within a cavity with a radiation beam, producing a first vapor bubble using first pulse, and, at a different location, a second vapor bubble using a second pulse. The pulse repetition time is adjusted to ensure efficacy, for example such that an onset time of the second vapor bubble is within the first contraction phase of the first vapor bubble, when the first vapor bubble has contracted from its maximal volume to a size in a range from about 0.7 to about 0.1 of the maximal volume.

  • Publication number: 20230064019
Abstract: An apparatus for cooling tissues which are treated with an energy-based device, such as a laser, is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a spray nozzle which generates an atomized liquid spray for the treatment area, wherein the atomized liquid spray is based on a mixture of liquid and gas. Further, the spray nozzle comprises at least one liquid outlet which ejects a liquid, and at least one gas outlet which ejects a gas stream. Besides, the apparatus for cooling comprises at least one delivery means for delivering pressurized gas to the spray nozzle; and a pumping means for the liquid, wherein the pumping means is configured to operate in pulses.

  • Publication number: 20220266055
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for generating a laser pulse sequence for application to a predetermined target tissue. Means are provided for setting a cumulative fluence Fs of the laser pulse sequence. Means are provided for determining a duration of the laser pulse sequence as a function of the cumulative fluence Fs such that the predetermined target tissue is heated to a final temperature that is within a predetermined range.

  • Publication number: 20210069756
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for cleaning a cavity filled with a liquid are disclosed. An apparatus (1) for applying pulses of electromagnetic radiation to a cavity (2) filled with a liquid (3) may comprise a source (4, 4?) for generating a first pulse and a second pulse of electromagnetic radiation and a control unit (22) adapted to control a time between the first pulse and the second pulse as a function of a diameter D and/or a cross-sectional area of the cavity (2).
