Abstract: A magnetic transmission having an input shaft and an output shaft with two or more gear assemblies, each gear assembly having an input sprocket affixed to the input shaft, an output armature with peripheral electromagnets affixed to the output shaft, a transfer drum concentric with the output armature and having electromagnets inset from the inside surface of the transfer drum and a drum sprocket on the periphery of the transfer drum, and a transfer chain engaging the input sprocket and the drum sprocket. A gear assembly actuator is used to select and energize a desired gear assembly. A hysteresis clutch can also be used in lieu of the output armature and the transfer drum.

Abstract: A fast food restaurant and method of operating a fast food restaurant, the restaurant having an order and staging station for drive through customers. The order and staging station has a plurality of order stalls for customer vehicles, each order stall having an order panel with a menu display and a touch screen or voice or speech activator for self-service menu item selection and order placement. The order panel also has a payment acceptor and an order status reporter. The customer vehicle remains in the order stall until the customer is notified that the order is ready for pickup at a delivery station.

Abstract: Apparatus and method for extracting water from air containing water vapor. A feed air assembly supplies air containing water vapor to a diff-user assembly in a reactive tank containing a reagent, preferably sulfuric acid, which absorbs the water vapor from the feed air. The reactive tank vents the dried air. A reagent solution line transmits reagent solution from the reactive tank to a recovery tank. A vacuum pump evaporates concentrated water vapor from the recovery tank and an extraction energy exchanger condenses the concentrated water vapor to liquid water.

The intake assembly has a fixed outer housing, two or more shaft seals sealing between the shaft and the outer housing forming fluid supply chambers between adjacent shaft seals, and a pair of shaft bearings bearing between the shaft and the outer housing. The outer housing has one or more fluid intake ports for each fluid supply chamber and each shaft fluid way has a shaft fluid intake which is hydraulically connected to a fluid supply chamber.

Abstract: A solar energy collector comprised of Fresnel lenses attached by support frames to a solar tracking drive. Each of the Fresnel lenses is continuously alined with the sun during a desired period of operation and are maintained at a focus distance from energy absorbers by the support frames and the solar tracking drive. The energy absorbers may be absorption conduit.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automated food court operation utilizing an order station where a customer uses a touch screen to order menu items from one or more of the restaurants, a payment station where the customer uses a touch screen to pay for the order using forms of payment selected by the customer, a restaurant touch screen in each restaurant which notifies restaurant personnel of menu items ordered from the restaurant and allows restaurant personnel to acknowledge readiness of the items for delivery, a delivery screen in the dining area which notifies customers of items ready for delivery, and a central computer linking all of the components and providing sales and accounting information for distribution of revenue to the restaurants.
