  • Publication number: 20120042275
Abstract: Techniques are provided for cloning specific windows of a computer desktop to a wireless display surface. The user console session of a source computer and a destination computer establish a wireless communications channel. The user console session determines a specific window or windows to share with the destination computer, such that the destination computer will display the window(s) on a wireless display. The user console session extracts these window(s) and encodes them with a remote presentation protocol, then transmits the encoded window to the destination computer, such that the encoded windows are not transferred through a second user session of the source computer before being transferred to the destination computer. Upon receiving the encoded window, the destination computer decodes the encoded windows and displays them on the wireless display.

  • Patent number: 7439937
Abstract: The present invention is directed to appropriately rendering terminal server graphical data at multiple client side monitors. In some embodiments, a client sends client side monitor configuration for a plurality of monitors to a server. The server simulates a virtual desktop for the plurality of monitors based on the client side monitor configuration. Graphical data generated for the simulated virtual desktop is converted to drawing commands and returned to the client for rendering. In other embodiments, a separate terminal server session is established for each of a plurality client side monitors. Drawing commands for a specified client side monitor is sent from the terminal server to the client over the corresponding session for the client side monitor.

  • Publication number: 20080246985
Abstract: In client-server architectures, systems and methods for XPS based printer redirection are disclosed. In an implementation, a client computing device issues a print command to print an application hosted on a server computing device. The server computing device implements a generic printer driver to emulate exact properties of a client printer driver installed in the client computing device. The generic printer driver redirects one or more calls related to printer settings to the client printer driver. The client computing device returns the printer settings which are combined with the application (to be printed) to generate an XPS file. The XPS file is redirected to a printer connected to the client computing device for printing.

  • Publication number: 20080189355
Abstract: In client-server architectures, systems and methods for per-application remote volume control are disclosed. In an implementation, one or more audio session are created between a client computing device and a server computing device corresponding to one or more media applications running on the server computing device. The volume of each of the media application is selectively changed at the server and the change in volume is synchronized at the client for the corresponding audio session.

  • Publication number: 20070130262
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides systems and/or methods that facilitate interpreting Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) data. An interface can obtain MIME data. For instance, a stream of MIME data can be obtained, MIME data can be loaded from a static file, etc. Moreover, any disparate type of RFC 822 data can additionally or alternatively be received by the interface. Also, a MIME reader can analyze the MIME data (and/or normalized RFC 822 data) to interpret encoded structural information and generate at least one primitive based on the encoded structural information. Further, a hierarchical model can be built utilizing the at least one primitive.

  • Publication number: 20070061477
Abstract: A remote access system connects a server computer with one or more client computers, where devices are connected locally at the client computers. The devices are recognized by the client computers and a device driver is provided for each connected and recognized device. A virtual driver is created at the server computer from information specific to the device, such that the virtual driver acts as an actual driver to an application on the server computer. The application through the virtual driver is able to recognize and provide commands to the connected device.
