  • Patent number: 4012661
Abstract: In a color television tube, compensation for heating of a three-clip aperture mask assembly due, in large measure, to electron bombardment of the assembly, is improved by tilting the assembly about a horizontal axis as it is moved closer to the screen with increasing temperature. The tilt is achieved by varying the design of the clip attached to one of the horizontal sides of the mask frame, thereby providing the clip with a thermal deflection characteristic different from that exhibited by the clips attached to each of the vertical sides of the frame.
