  • Patent number: 4287446
Abstract: A stator for a stepper motor comprises a stator core having a plurality of coil supports on which coils are wound. Selected predetermined coils are connected in series by intermediate portions of the coil wires which extend around the periphery of the core. The end portions of the wires which extend from the series connected coils to terminal housings are connected to terminals in the housings. The lead wires which extend from the stator are also connected to the terminals in the housings. The stator is produced by a continuous winding process followed by a terminal insertion step in which the terminals are inserted into the terminal housings. The method substantially reduces the amount of labor required to produce the stator.

  • Patent number: 4150355
Abstract: Stamped and formed connecting device for splicing a small diameter lead wire to a larger diameter resistor core comprises a U-shaped connecting member having a web and sidewalls. The web has a semicylindrical central depression for the lead wire and has arcuate portions on each side of the depression which conform to the resistor core. The sidewalls are reversely folded at their outer ends to provide inner and outer layers. The ends of the inner layers are located adjacent to the depression. In use, the lead wire is located in the depression, the resistor core is positioned between the sidewalls, and the sidewalls are crimped onto the resistor. The ends of the inner layers move relatively towards, and against, the lead wire during crimping and establish contact with the lead wire. Contact with the resistor core is established by the inner surfaces of the inner layers of the sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 4130331
Abstract: A box-like plastic connector housing has one end thereof opened with slots extending down opposite walls from said open end. A raised, anvil-like portion extends from the bottom of said housing upwardly towards said open end with a flat surface on the top thereof positioned between said slots. A magnet wire is inserted in said slots and laid upon said anvil surface. A U-shaped terminal has two thin, flat legs joined together by a transverse element. A slot extends across said transverse element and down into the said two legs. Said U-shaped contact is inserted into said box-like housing with the transverse element being inserted first and with the slots in the terminal legs and the box-like housing being aligned, thereby trapping the wire between the closed ends of said aligned slots, and specifically with the closed end of the slots in said terminal clamping the magnet wire firmly down upon said anvil surface.
