  • Patent number: 7946735
Abstract: A LED light apparatus includes a conical reflection housing and a LED light source. The reflection housing has a vertex, a light opening aligning with the vertex, an inner flat reflection surface. The LED light source includes a light head alignedly pointing towards the vertex, wherein when the light head generates light a first portion of the light is accumulatively reflected by the reflection surface towards the light opening while a second portion of the light is projected towards the non-reflection arrangement to prevent the second portion of the light being reflected back to the light source for minimizing a black spot occurring at the light opening. Accordingly, the wide light pattern is refocused into a narrow beam pattern to improve the lighting efficiency. The distribution of the light output is regulated, and the heat generation is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20100271827
Abstract: A LED lighting includes an illuminator and a reflection housing. The illuminator provides the light. The reflection housing receives and holds the illuminator, and patterns the light illuminated by the illuminator. The reflection housing includes an illuminator end, a linear reflection surface, and a light opening. The illuminator end, the linear reflection surface, and the light opening define a conical cavity which has a shape of right circular cone. The illuminator end is at the apex of the conical cavity, the lighting opening is at the bottom of the conical cavity with a circular shape, and the conical linear reflection surface is the lateral surface of the conical cavity.

  • Patent number: 7760040
Abstract: A method and a voltage-controlled oscillator provide an output signal with a frequency within one of a plurality of frequency bands, while reducing or eliminating temperature-induced band-switching or other drifts in operating frequency. The band-switching is reduced or eliminated by providing a circuit that adjusts a tuning sensitivity according to a calibration performed under test conditions. For example, such a voltage-controlled oscillator may include (a) a digitally controlled variable current source for providing a first control current to select one of the frequency bands for the voltage-controlled oscillator; (b) a variable transconductance circuit providing a second control current to compensate a variation in operating frequency; and (c) a control circuit for varying the frequency of the output signal in accordance with the first and second control signals.

  • Patent number: 7459970
Abstract: A method and a low noise amplifier are provided such that the low noise amplifier has a power dissipation that is adaptive to the noise interference levels. The low noise amplifer includes (i) first, second and third differential amplifiers connected in series each having a terminal for receiving a power supply current; and (ii) first and second switches responsive to a control signal, the first and second switches configured such that, (a) when the control signal is in a first state, the first switch and the second switch enable independent currents to flow in the terminals for receiving a power supply current; and (b) otherwise, the first switch and the second switch enable the terminal for receiving a power supply current of the second differential amplifier to reuse a current provided to the terminal for receiving a power supply current of the third differential amplifier. The control signal is provided by a radio frequency noise power detector, which senses an output signal of the low noise amplifier.

  • Patent number: 6392581
Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter is used to convert a known analog signal to a digital output. The output is then compared to a known digital output that corresponds to the known analog signal. If the two do not match, then the gain and frequency response of the analog-to-digital converter is tuned using a varactor control circuit until the digital output is correct.

  • Patent number: 5841384
Abstract: A digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for generating a high-precision analog output signal corresponding to a non-linear function, such as a sine function, of a digital input quantity, without the need for large numbers of precision current generators. Binary weighted current sources provide currents that, when selectively combined to provide a single output current, are approximately equivalent to the non-linear function of the digital input quantity, and an interpolation network provides an interpolation current that is added to the output current. The interpolation network may be selected to provide linear or non-linear interpolation between output current values. In other disclosed embodiments, multiple interpolation networks are used, either to provide different interpolation techniques for different ranges of input values, or to be connected effectively in series to provide for still greater accuracy without using additional current sources.

  • Patent number: 4658158
Abstract: In a high-density VLSI NMOS semiconductor such as a ROM, a voltage sensing mode amplifier in the output thereof, operative to sense relatively very low input signal swing bit read signals from the ROM with relative insensitivity to fabrication process variation. The structure includes a common gate amplifier for receiving the ROM signal, a very sensitive reference voltage circuit, a two-stage differential digital switching module operative to compatively receive the common gate and voltage reference signals to effectively distinguish relatively weak bit signals as read from the high-density VLSI ROM.

  • Patent number: 4163244
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved integrated injection logic circuit suitable for large scale integration. In integrated injection logic the fundamental circuit unit is a bipolar transistor having a unitary base and a unitary emitter with a plurality of electrically separate collectors used in combination with a complementary bipolar transistor for base current injection. Typically, the collector of the injector is integral with the base of the first transistor. By a novel symmetric arrangement of the individual collectors in respect to both base contacts and injectors, the response of the individual collectors is closely matched even at relatively high current levels.
