Abstract: A multimedia playing system is provided. A portable electronic device includes a first dock port, a second dock port, a power module, an audio processor and a controller. When a first single-ear wireless earphone connects with the first dock port, the power module charges the first single-ear wireless earphone via the first dock port. When a second single-ear wireless earphone connects with the second dock port, the power module charges the second single-ear wireless earphone via the second dock port. The audio processor provides a left sound channel signal and a right sound channel signal. When the first single-ear wireless earphone separates from the first dock port, the controller provides one of the left sound channel signal and the right sound channel signal to the first single-ear wireless earphone according to a relative position between the first dock port and a user.

Abstract: A near field communication (NFC) extending method and an extension apparatus are provided. The method includes the following steps: controlling a first NFC unit to perform a matching operation with a second NFC unit of a host device through an NFC function to establish a first wireless connection between a second communication unit in the host device and a first communication unit of the extension apparatus based on a wireless communication protocol; determining whether a matching data has been received from an electronic device through the NFC function; if yes, determining whether the first wireless connection is valid; and if yes, transmitting the matching data to the host device through the first wireless connection.

Abstract: A method of displaying images includes detecting frequency of ambient light, updating frequency of a display device according to the frequency of the ambient light, and adjusting shutter frequencies of a pair of shutter glasses according to the frequency of the ambient light when the display device is in a 3D display mode. In this way, flickers caused by inconsistency between the frequency of the ambient light and the frequencies of the display device and the shutters of the shutter glasses can be avoided.
