  • Patent number: 9676567
Abstract: A cargo compartment configured to be installed in an aircraft and to accommodate a plurality of cargo receiving devices is provided. The cargo compartment surrounds a compartment interior space, and includes a floor structure arrangement having a floor surface facing the compartment interior space and configured to support cargo receiving devices loaded into the cargo compartment. The cargo compartment includes two opposite side walls extending laterally of the floor structure arrangement away from the floor surface, and the side walls include an entrance opening for access to the compartment interior space. The floor structure arrangement also includes an air cushion device having a plurality of cushion nozzles distributed in the floor surface, and the cushion nozzles are configured to blow air up from the floor surface in a direction perpendicular to the floor surface.

  • Patent number: 9666178
Abstract: A device for aiding communication in the aeronautical domain, wherein the device includes a transceiver and data processor assembly that records audio messages corresponding to all the incoming and outgoing audio communications, transcribes the messages, in real time, into textual messages, displays the textual messages, and enables an audio play back of the audio messages.

  • Publication number: 20160318181
Abstract: An aircraft part, such as a cockpit or cabin, comprising a support structure and a robot arm. The robot arm has a proximal end attached to the support structure and a distal end configured to hold an electronic device. An actuation system drives the arm so that the arm distal end moves relative to the support structure. A non-volatile memory contains data, and a controller is programmed to drive the actuation system according to the data to move the arm distal end to a position determined by the data. The arm comprises a “snake-arm” with three or more links connected by a series of two or more joints, each joint connecting together a respective adjacent pair of the links and permitting relative rotation between the adjacent pair of links. The actuation system moves the arm distal end by causing a relative rotation between the links about their joints.

  • Patent number: 9452901
Abstract: A system for loading and unloading a cargo compartment of a vehicle, such as an aircraft, with a cargo receiving device is provided. The system includes a cargo receiving device including a base structure arrangement having a horizontal lower contact surface, and a locking mechanism configured to engage one or more corresponding holding members provided in a cargo compartment of a vehicle. The system also includes a transport device including a horizontal upper contact surface configured to be disposed in abutting contact to said lower contact surface, a drive unit configured to initiate horizontal movement of the transport device, a lift unit configured to initiate vertical movement of the upper contact surface, and an actuating unit configured to actuate the locking mechanism of the cargo receiving device.

  • Publication number: 20150348422
Abstract: A system and method for providing an aircraft turnaround schedule are disclosed. In one embodiment, a time taken for each aircraft turnaround activity is obtained from touchdown to takeoff of an aircraft from an aircraft on-board system by a ground station system. Further, the aircraft turnaround schedule is computed based on the obtained time taken for each aircraft turnaround activity using a dynamic buffer management approach by the ground station system.
