    Abstract: A process for esterification of carbonyl compounds is provided. The process forms a mixture of a carbonyl compound and an inorganic phosphorous compound. An inorganic base can be added to the mixture. The mixture is filtered and an alcohol and a titanate catalyst are added to the filtrate. The mixture is esterified at an elevated temperature.
