Abstract: A companion robot transfer assistant for usage alongside an automatic transfer bed and a compatible wheelchair or commode chair includes: means for securing, supporting or grasping the upper body or arms of a patient, means for moving towards or away from a person, and means for sliding or moving laterally from side-to-side; wherein during transfer, the companion robot transfer assistant moves in front of the patient, secures the patient and assists or allows the patient to lean forward resting a portion of their upper body weight on it.

Abstract: An upper garment dresser for providing automatic or tele-controlled upper garment dressing of a patient, said upper garment dresser includes: means for picking up an upper garment from a default position, means for positioning a back portion of the upper garment behind a patient's back, and means for positioning a front portion of the upper garment in front of the patient; whereby during dressing, an upper body of the patient is pulled forward to expose the back and upright to expose the front; and whereby during such movement backwards and forwards, the upper garment can be flipped over the head of the patient, and its back and front parts secured together.

Abstract: Disclosed is a patient transfer system for transferring a user between a bed and a purposefully designed mobile sitting device that is aligned and berthed alongside the bed, wherein, the bed is adaptable to a seated arrangement and includes an interleaf structure of cushions and platforms, the platform including: a padding, a rail, restricted path, or track, and means for transferring the padding in a direction parallel to the ground away or towards the bed; the bed further includes means to raise or lower the top of the cushions or the padding; and the mobile sitting device includes a receiving rail, restricted path or track to receive the padding.

Abstract: A sit-down bathing configuration comprises includes: a seated shower device with an open area under its sitting surface, and a mobile bathing chair; wherein the seat of the mobile bathing chair can be fitted above the sitting surface of the seated shower device and the mobile bathing chair can be wheeled in and out of the shower device.

Abstract: A semi-open bathing device (200) is provided, one aspect of which relates to multi-function showering device, comprising a chair assembly, a plurality of first dispensers (220/222), a supply assembly, a temperature regulator, and a waste water management assembly. In the semi-open bathing device (200), the chair assembly comprises a seat (202) with a hole (204) disposed in the center of the seat (202). A backrest (206) and two sidewalls (214) are coupled to the seat (202) respectively thereby forming a front opening for the chair assembly. The backrest (206) provides a support for the bather and the two sidewalls (214) are configured to contain the spillage of water. The plurality of first dispensers (220/222) is positioned onto the sidewalls (214) and/or the backrest (206) for dispensing water and/or air towards the bather. The supply assembly is located at backside of the backrest (206) for connecting to a water supply and an electricity supply.

Abstract: Recording methods, systems and media for recording and read-out with relatively low-power laser means to write digital data "bits" (as reflectance changes) for high density computer storage. One preferred medium comprises a disk support having an "anti-reflective" surface on which is laid a non-continuous "information layer" adapted to absorb recording radiation (from laser beam), and so "write" the bits, by "agglomerating" (coalescing).The information layer exhibits suprisingly high sensitivity, apt for low power recording, and extended archival stability; more suprising, it appears to be formed without any evidence of the usual ablation, "pit formation" or other deformation.
