  • Patent number: 8079173
Abstract: A fishing lure includes a weighted hydrodynamic head, mated artificial bait and pivoting hook. The weighted hydrodynamic head includes an integrally molded, conically-shaped or pyramid-shaped malleable body with a plurality of fins projecting laterally therefrom, a blunt leading edge, a trailing edge, a central passage extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge, and a slot formed in the side of the body and extending into the central passage. The weighted hydrodynamic head is made of a dense material such as lead. The hook is an offset hook including an eyelet, a proximal shank, an offset bend section, a distal shank, a u-shaped bend and a pointed barbed tip. The distal shank and proximal shank are substantially parallel. The eyelet, which projects through the central passage in the leading edge and the distal shank, is aligned with and extends longitudinally from the slot.

  • Patent number: 5862843
Abstract: A nozzle is provided for the inflation or deflation of inflatable articles that are equipped with a valve stem having a flap valve, a cap, a hinge connecting the cap to the valve stem, and an annular depression on the external surface of the valve stem. The nozzle comprises an annular conduit equipped with a centrally disposed pin that protrudes partially from the conduit. The conduit is provided with a notch for accommodating the hinge on the valve stem, and a resilient ridge on the interior of the conduit for engaging the annular depression on the external surface of the valve stem, thereby securing the nozzle in place. In use, the nozzle is placed over the valve stem in such a way that the notch is disposed around the hinge. The pin engages the flap valve within the valve stem, thereby allowing the free flow of air through the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5009026
Abstract: A bait-saving fish hook includes a rearward eye portion, a shank portion, and a forward hook portion together with a bait guard attached to the eye portion. The bait guard includes an elongated flexible member secured to the eye portion extending forwardly along at last one side of the shank portion, following the curve of the hook portion and extending rearwardly to and in engagement with the barbed point. The bait guard preferably returns correspondingly along the other side of the hook portion to be engaged with the eye portion of the fish hook. A slider can move from adjacent the eye portion to hold bait secured on the hook in place adjacent the barbed point.

  • Patent number: 4713908
Abstract: A bait-saving fish hook has a hook portion having a barbed point connected to one end of a shank portion having an eye portion at its other end. A basket comprising a strand is secured to the eye portion at one end, and is spaced apart from one side of the shank portion and is approximately the same length as and parallel to the shank portion. The strand forms a v-shaped notch at the barbed point and is spaced apart from, approximately the same length as and parallel to the shank portion on the other side of the shank portion. The strand is secured to the eye portion at its other end. The basket attachment prevents the bait from falling off the fish hook and gives the fisherman an improved feel for the fish bite.
