    Abstract: Small, effective fire igniter tablets are provided comprising a major amount of a combination of wax and a cellulosic material powder in the form of a tablet or cylinder and a minor amount on and/or near the surface of said tablet or cylinder of an aliphatic diacyl peroxide. The tablets are found to readily ignite and burn for a sufficient time to insure kindling of logs or other solid fuel, both natural and synthetic.
