Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for aggregating and processing product information are disclosed. Embodiments include hardware and/or software for receiving an electronic receipt from a merchant that describes a transaction for a product by a purchaser and gathering product information from one or more sources such as the merchant, the product's manufacturer, the purchaser's bank, and/or an accessories dealer. Upon gathering the product information, the product information is associated with the transaction for the product on the electronic receipt and packaged in a standard, electronic format, an aggregated package, that is accessible and manageable by the purchaser's software, such as a personal finance manager (PFM) like Quicken™, Quickbooks™, Microsoft Money™, or the like. The aggregated package can then be sent to the purchaser via an email address supplied by the purchaser at the time of the purchaser or by the purchaser's bank while completing a funds transfer for the transaction.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically performing actions in response to a user making travel arrangements. Delivery services, such as postal and parcel services, are instructed to take certain actions while the user is traveling. For example, the delivery can be instructed to hold packages for pickup by the user, deliver the packages to the user when the user returns, or forward the packages to another location. In addition, a system and method for notifying a company mailroom with travel instructions is included. An electronic calendar is automatically updated with information related to the user's travel plans. Other users with access to the calendar can view the user's travel agenda. The user can gather travel specific details from the calendar for use in traveling, for example the flight and hotel information, is readily available. The user's telephone can also be configured as preferred by the user.

Abstract: Account transaction protection is provided during the automated authorization process of a charge account, a debit account, a personal account or a business account. After a vendor asks the authorization service provider to approve a pending transaction, the authorization service provider automatically contacts an account holder asking for approval or refusal of the pending transaction. The contact is made by telephone, or computer network, such as the Internet. After entering a PIN to establish identity, the account holder approves or rejects the pending transaction after receiving a validation request message detailing the facts of the transaction. The PIN may be a normal PIN or a duress PIN. If the duress PIN is used, indicating the account holder is under duress to approve the pending transaction, the service provider notifies the authorities. Similarly, if the account holder indicates that refusal is due to unauthorized use, the service provider contacts the authorities.

Abstract: A wireless broadcast of an electronic work with digital rights rules is received from a primary player at a secondary player. Synchronous play of the electronic work at the secondary player is enabled while the secondary player is within reception range of the primary player. A sample of the streamed electronic work with digital rights rules is stored at the secondary player. Responsive to detecting that the secondary player has moved outside reception range of the primary player, the secondary player only allows playback of the stored electronic work according to the digital rights rules.

Abstract: A method for sending a message containing a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to a customer. The method includes recording in a customer's telephone system a destination address of the communications terminal, selecting at least one URL to be sent to the communications terminal during a telephone call, obtaining the destination address, generating a message containing the URLs, and sending the message from a telephone system of the merchant or sender to the destination address of the customer's communications terminal. The message may also contain additional items, including for example, electronic coupons, an on-line trial subscription, a user ID, a user password, advertisements, sender information, or combinations thereof, wherein the user ID and user password are required by the Website having the address of the URLs. Abstract: A device scanner system at a security checkpoint queries a powered on electronic device for device-reported data via a network connection. The device-reported data includes the operational status of at least one component of the electronic device, a configuration of the electronic device, and a current ownership of the electronic device. Responsive to receiving the device-reported data, the device scanner system retrieves expected data for the electronic device. The device scanner system assigns a security level to the electronic device indicating whether the device-reported data matches the expected data, such that the electronic device is screened based on data reported by the powered on electronic device.

Abstract: A method, program and apparatus for providing access to alternate images in an electronic document are provided. The present invention comprises identifying an initial image to be displayed in an electronic document (typically a web page) and then determining if alternate versions of the image are available for display. If alternate versions of the image are available, they are provided within the same electronic document. The alternate images differ from the initial image in size and resolution, allowing users with visual impairments to access larger, higher resolution images. The user accesses the alternate images by means of a selector displayed within the electronic document. When selected, the alternate image replaces the initial image in the electronic document, and the document is reformatted.

Abstract: A method, system, and program for tracking locally broadcast electronic works are provided. According to one aspect of the invention, a sending player locally broadcasts an electronic work. In particular, the local broadcast may be a wireless broadcast creating an ad-hoc radio system. At least one recipient player receives the localized broadcast of the electronic work and accepts a distribution cookie for tracking distribution of the electronic work. The at least one recipient player updates the distribution cookie with tracking information about the broadcast of the electronic work, including ratings by users at the second player and purchase of the broadcast electronic work. Each of the at least one recipient players may in turn become a sending player that broadcasts the electronic work to other recipient players and requires the other recipient players to accept a copy of the distribution cookie updated by the second player.

A secondary player receives a wireless broadcast of an electronic work from a primary player. Next, responsive to a playback of the electronic work from the secondary player, the secondary player requires a recipient of the electronic work to rate the electronic work. Then, responsive to the recipient rating the electronic work or an automatic rating selection made based on the recipient's preferences, the options available to the recipient may be dynamically adjusted. First, responsive to the recipient rating the electronic work with a favorable rating, the secondary player triggers a purchase offer for the electronic work when the secondary player is connected to a network providing access to a purchase server.

Abstract: A system is provided to enable a user of one wireless telephone device to remotely view or operate another wireless telephone device. The system includes a first wireless device that receives a remote control command from a second wireless device, wherein the remote control command requests authorization for the second wireless device to operate the first wireless device. If the first wireless device authorizes the second wireless device to operate the first wireless device, both enter a remote control mode, wherein operations entered on the second wireless device are transmitted to the first wireless device for operation by the first wireless device. Also, if the first wireless device authorizes the second wireless device to view the operations of first wireless device, both enter a remote viewing mode, wherein operations entered on the first wireless device are transmitted to the second wireless device for viewing by the second wireless device.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for establishing a communication connection between a first party and a second party using a secured communication connection object are provided. With the apparatus and method, a first party generates the secured communication connection object by setting parameters identifying and limiting the use of the secured communication connection object for establishing communication connections with the first party. These parameters are encapsulated with contact information for the first party such that the contact information is encrypted. The resulting secured communication connection object is then transmitted to a second party's communication device.

A data processing system receives at least one incoming instant message. Responsive to identifying the at least one incoming instant message as a response to at least one outgoing instant message originating from the data processing system, the data processing system associates the at least one incoming instant message with the at least one outgoing instant message to form a set of related messages. The data processing system presents the at least one incoming instant message to a first user, wherein a relationship between the at least one incoming instant message and the at least one outgoing instant message is identified.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a multi-way connection management (MWCM) system for monitoring and maintaining call connections among a group of participating parties. The multi-way call connection may be established by connecting the originating party and the desired participating parties. Once a multi-way call connection is established, the multi-way call connection may be maintained until the originating party desires to terminate the call. Any disconnected party may rejoin the multi-way call by an automatic redial performed by the MWCM system. Additionally, the originating party may provide a call continuation period of the multi-way call when the originating party can rejoin the multi-way call. In this manner, other participating parties may stay in the multi-way call during the provided period without the originating party being connected.
