  • Publication number: 20140226940
Abstract: A multi-tube optical fiber cable has a core with a first set of one or more optical fiber tubes, each having one or more optical fibers loosely arranged therein. The first set of tubes is constructed of a polymer having a low Young's constant modulus. The core also includes at least two strength members with a first binder arranged around the first set of optical fiber tubes and the strength members, where the first binder is substantially flat in shape such that there is no deformation of the first set of tubes, and where the strength members are offset from a central axis of the cable. The cable maintains a second set of a plurality of optical fiber tubes, each having one or more optical fibers loosely arranged therein, arranged around the outer circumference of the core.

  • Publication number: 20140150471
Abstract: A method for cooling a plant for superconductive cables is provided, where the plant includes two thermally insulated end closures (1, 2) and at least one thermally insulated, tubular cryostat (3) arranged between the end closures, in which at least one superconductive cable is arranged. Liquid nitrogen contained in a cooling agent supply is pumped by means of a pump (9) through a first end closure and the cryostat to a second end closure. At least one vacuum insulated tank (7) is used for the cooling agent supply, where the tank (7) contains nitrogen at operating temperature and out of which the nitrogen is pumped. For making available a quantity of liquid nitrogen necessary for operating the plant, the supply of liquid nitrogen contained in the tank (7) is supplemented during operation or is switched over to another tank (10) containing liquid nitrogen.

  • Publication number: 20140115859
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for a helically undulated pipe made of metal, which has an end face extending along a turn of the thread of its undulation and a connecting element to be fastened to the pipe. The connecting element includes a pipe piece which has a helically extending inner surface corresponding to the turn of the thread of the undulation of the pipe. The pipe piece is mounted on the pipe in the undulation of the pipe. A metal ring is arranged on the pipe piece, where the pipe piece has sections with different inner diameters arranged one behind the other in the axial direction.

  • Publication number: 20140051581
Abstract: A system with a three phase superconductive electrical transmission element is indicated, in which three superconductive electrical phase conductors are arranged insulated relative to each other and concentrically relative to each other, and in which a thermally insulated tubular cryostat is arranged which has a free space for conducting a cooling medium therethrough. The transmission element has at least two identically constructed cables (K1, K2), each of which has three electrical phase conductors (L1, L2, L3) which are insulated relative to each other and arranged concentrically relative to each other. The phase conductors (L1, L2, L3) of the two cables (K1, K2) are electrically switched in parallel in such a way that always one phase conductor of the one cable is connected to the phase conductor of the other cable.

  • Publication number: 20140030908
Abstract: A protective element for manufacturing platines is provided, where conductors are fastened to the contacts of the conductors. The protective element includes recesses which are configured for arranging a conductor each, and the protective element can be arranged adjacent a support. The recesses of the protective element are arranged in a first position in alignment with the recesses of the support and in a second position at an angle relative to the recesses of the support. Preferably, the protective element has at least one hinge section which is configured for interacting with a complimentary hinge section of a support which can be mounted against the protective element, where pivoting of the protective element against the support about the pivoting axis of: the interacting hinge sections moves the protective element on the support from the first position into the second position.

  • Publication number: 20130338258
Abstract: A halogen-free polymer resin composition and a polymer resin material is prepared by using the composition, in particular a cable for using in ships or drillships. The polymer resin material prepared by using the composition maintains flexibility even at low temperature of ?40° C., and has fire retardant properties required to use in cable for general ships as well as oil resistance properties required to use in marine structures such as oil well drilling ships and oil well drilling structure, or drillships.

  • Publication number: 20130306350
Abstract: An electrical line with a temperature resistance of at most at least 90° C. and particularly fire properties which meet the Standard UL83 (corresponds to CSA Standard C22.2 No. 75-08) and are halogen free as a result, where the line has at least one electrical strand including a conductor and a flame retardant, temperature resistant halogen free insulating layer surrounding the conductor. The strand is surrounded by a casing of a polyamide containing polymer mixture, particularly of polyamide. The casing rests on the insulating layer of the strand or the line has an intermediate layer which forms an intermediate casing and borders the insulating layer of at least two strands and the casing which surrounds the intermediate layer and which is also called intermediate casing.
