  • Publication number: 20070119792
Abstract: A rackmount chassis includes removable supports that provide interior support for blades having mounting edge-to-mounting edge dimensions that are less than the full chassis width. The removable supports are mounted on parallel support plates that span the full width of the chassis. Each removable support supports an edge of at least one blade installed into the rackmount chassis. The locations of the removable supports on the parallel support plates determine the blade form factors (mounting edge-to-mounting edge dimensions) that the rackmount chassis can accept. Because the removable supports can be individually removed/installed, the configuration of the resulting rackmount component can be changed without physically removing the rackmount component from the rack in which it is mounted.

  • Publication number: 20060122466
Abstract: The present invention comprises a modular telemedicine system with a universal adapter that connects diagnostic, identification and audiovisual communication function modules, at least one of which is present at the patient's location, to a variable process module that performs data transmission, processing and output. The connection of the system, which can be used anywhere, to a physician's receiving center facilitates the mobile telemedical treatment of patients. Preferably, the system comprises a plurality of function modules for the recording of data. Simplified, basic operation of all function modules is made possible through a hard-wired connection between the function module and the universal adapter, and data can be transmitted to corresponding process modules wirelessly or hard-wired. Each function module can be used separately or in combination with the universal adapter and the process module.

  • Publication number: 20030173151
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for controlling the stability of elevating systems, such as personnel lifts. In one embodiment, a stability control apparatus includes an angle detector and a signal processor. The angle detector is mounted to a boom of a personnel lift and configured to detect an angle of inclination of the boom relative to an independent reference frame independent of the personnel lift. The signal processor is operatively connected to the angle detector and is configured to receive a first signal initiated by the angle detector when the angle of inclination reaches a predetermined angle. The signal processor is further configured to output a second signal in response to receiving the first signal causing a boom control system to limit movement of the boom relative to the independent reference frame when the angle of inclination reaches the predetermined angle.
