    Abstract: A calling user initiates a telephonic communication with a receiving user by dialing a phone number of the receiving user in his or her address book. The communication is transmitted from the calling user's device to the receiving user's device through a network that is not using Internet protocol or Internet-based, e.g., Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), Internet Protocol (IP), TCP-IP, or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). After a number of notifications has passed on the receiving user's device and the receiving user is not able to answer the telephonic communication, a local voicemail recorder will be activated to record and store the telephonic communication for later retrieval by the receiving user. The stored communication is identifier by a sequence of string containing at least one of a name, a telephone number, a storage location, a date-time attribute, and a duration associated with the stored communication.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for precomputing data and storing cache objects corresponding to the precomputed data are described. A system creates a new cache object when a user interacts with the system. The system precomputes formulas in the newly created cache object by replacing the formulas with corresponding calculated values. The system precomputes the formulas in the background (i.e., the user is not presented with the precomputed values while the user is manipulating the data). The system may persistently store a precomputed version cache object in a dedicated version cache storage for later use. If updates are performed to the structure and/or values of a version represented in a precomputed version cache object, effected parts of the version cache object are invalidated by replacing calculated values with the underlying formulas.

A first passage may be at least partially defined by an inner surface of the outer coupling piece and an outer surface of the inner coupling piece. The first passage may be configured such that the tether can be clamped in between the inner surface and the outer surface to allow the tether to move through the first passage in a first direction and apply a force differential such that movement of the tether in a second direction opposite the first direction is made more difficult.

    Abstract: A stabilizing circuit is disclosed, which may be employed with lighting systems, such as with lighting system power supply operations. The circuit comprises a monitoring circuit configured to detect a characteristic of a power supply, and a switching controller configured to disconnect a primary load from the power supply and connect an auxiliary load to the power supply when the detected characteristic fails to meet a specified parameter. This is done to ensure compatibility and stability of both the power supply and the primary load. For example, when an AC mains voltage providing power to the power supply becomes unstable, the stabilizing circuit may be configured to prevent the power supply from remaining in a self-protection mode that may cause the primary load to become unstable. A method for stabilizing a circuit is also disclosed.
