  • Patent number: 4663624
Abstract: A pager is described for use in an electronic watch. The pager comprises a frame (1) for picking up a magnetic signal and a piezoelectric transducer (11) having a static capacitance on its terminals, for producing a sound. 11To improve sensitivity of reception, a switching circuit (15) connects the transducer (11) in parallel with the frame (1) to tune it by means of the static capacitance to the frequency of the magnetic signal carrier wave. To increase the performance of the transducer (11 ) when it operates as a sound transmitter, the switching circuit (15) connects the frame (1) in series with the transducer (11).

  • Patent number: 4635286
Abstract: Some at least of the control signals usually produced by manual control members and applied to the control circuit of the watch to control the performance of the different functions thereof are produced directly from words pronounced by the user, belonging to a pre-determined vocabulary, by an assembly for producing control signals by means of speech, which comprises electro-acoustic means for converting a pronounced word into an analog signal representing that word, means for transforming the analog signal into an item of logic control information and means for transforming the logic information into a control signal which can be directly applied to a control circuit for controlling performance of the function corresponding to the word pronounced.

  • Patent number: 4626760
Abstract: The control circuit comprises means for measuring current flow in the motor winding including an auxiliary transistor and means to form periodically a current mirror from such auxiliary transistor and one of the transistors coupled to the winding for applying thereto energization pulses, i.e. motor drive pulses, catch-up pulses or check pulses.

  • Patent number: 4573187
Abstract: In a speech recognition and control apparatus, the speech signal is filtered into sub-bands, each sub-band signal sampled and binary quantized to form a digital string which is simplified (data reduced or compressed) by further encoding based on detecting in the string an isolated sample having one binary value surrounded by two samples having the other binary value.

  • Patent number: 4509133
Abstract: Speech recognition is improved by adaptive update of reference word codes. The apparatus can be used for controlling a piece of equipment and comprises memories which in coded form contains the references of the vocabulary of the machine; a microphone, a coding circuit and a memory for coding and memorizing the word pronounced by the user; a device for displaying the word recognized by the apparatus; and a control circuit for comparing the pronounced word to the different memorized references and for displaying at each repetition of the word the words corresponding to the references in their order of resemblance to the pronounced word. The user is able to train the apparatus easily by repeating a word until the displayed word agrees with what he has said, the coded form of this spoken word then being stored as the reference for the corresponding word of the vocabulary.

  • Patent number: 4468131
Abstract: An electronic watch having a case and a case back, a digital display, an integrated circuit, a battery and a fixed photo-electric pick-off placed on the module facing a window. The pick-off is for preference a photo-diode and its functioning is controlled by obstructing with a finger the window so as to prevent the ambient light from lighting the pick-off. According to the invention, the control system of the watch has the advantage of being insensitive to electrical parasites, of consuming little current, of being only slightly dependent upon the intensity of ambient light and of being simple to fabricate.

  • Patent number: 4443757
Abstract: A multiplexed filter with n channels comprises at least one amplifier G.sub.2 with n feedback capacitors C.sub.5 to C.sub.8 associated with the switches S.sub.5 to S.sub.8. A switch-controlled resistance R.sub.2 (C'.sub.r, K.sub.5, K.sub.6, K.sub.7, K.sub.8) is connected to its input. Switching signals .phi..sub.i and .phi..sub.p out of phase with each other are supplied to the switches K.sub.5 to K.sub.8 while the multiplexing signals .phi..sub.1 to .phi..sub.4 are applied to the switches S.sub.5 to S.sub.8. The signal .phi..sub.1 has a period T.sub.1 and the signals .phi..sub.2 to .phi..sub.4 have periods T.sub.i =2.sup.(i-1) T.sub.1 where i=2 to 4. The period T.sub.1 is twice the period of .phi..sub.i and .phi..sub.p and the time intervals of all of T.sub.1 to T.sub.4 are equal to the period of .phi..sub.i and .phi..sub.p. This filter with n band pass ranges (n=4 in this example) can serve with advantage for the frequency analysis of an electrical signal delivered by a microphone.
