Patent number: 11979193Abstract: A method of modulating an optical camera communication (OCC) signal by an OCC transmission node in an OCC system includes acquiring a binary data signal, grouping the binary data signal for every k bits to convert the binary data signal into a global phase shift signal having an integer value from 0 to M?1 (=2k?1), generating a data signal group by mapping the global phase shift signal to first to Mth mapping sequences in the form of an n*M/2-bit sequence based on a preset symbol group mapping table, generating a pulse wave signal by modulating the data signal group, and blinking each of a plurality of light sources included in the OCC transmission node according to the pulse wave signal. Accordingly, performance of the communication system may be improved.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2019Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: KOOKMIN UNIVERSITY INDUSTRY ACADEMY COOPERATION FOUNDATIONInventors: Yeong Min Jang, Van Thang Nguyen, Minh Duc Thieu, Ngoc Nguyen Huy, Tung Lam Pham

Patent number: 8262305Abstract: The present disclosure provides a package for storing and applying a liquid or semi-liquid composition to an exposed surface. The package has a body having a first side, a second side, a first end, a second end, and an interior cavity located between the first and second ends wherein the first and second sides connect the first end to the second end, and an opening at the first end. A liquid or semi-liquid composition, meant to be applied to the surface, is located and stored in the interior cavity of the body. A substrate is included over the opening of the package capable of transferring the liquid or semi-liquid composition onto the surface. In an exemplary aspect, the package further includes a cover portion positioned over the opening which encloses the substrate and seals the opening in the package.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2008Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Uyen Tuong Ngoc Lam, Corey Thomas Cunningham

Patent number: 8098087Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for standby voltage offset cancellation at inputs to a comparator within a receiver channel. Each of a first comparator input and second comparator input is isolated from an input signal such that each of the first and second comparator inputs attains a respective standby voltage level. A voltage level on one of the first and second comparator inputs is incrementally changed, while the output signal of the comparator is monitored. Upon detecting a state transition in the output signal of the comparator, the incremental changing of the voltage level on the one comparator input is stopped at a final voltage level setting. The final voltage level setting is stored in a computer memory for reference in setting of the voltage level at the one comparator input so as to compensate for the standby voltage offset at the inputs to the comparator.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2007Date of Patent: January 17, 2012Assignee: Altera CorporationInventors: John Dung-Ngoc Lam, Arch Zaliznyak, Wilson Wong, Tin H. Patent number: 6272677Abstract: Aspects for automatic code version update detection and distribution for an application program running on a computer system in a computer network are described. In a method aspect, the method includes providing two agent processes, a slave agent and a master agent, on an agent system in the computer network. A request is received in the slave agent from a manager system in the computer network, the request including an appropriate code version of the running application for response. A determination of whether the slave agent can fulfill the request at the appropriate code version is made, and an automatic updating of the agent system occurs when the request cannot be fulfilled at the appropriate code version.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1998Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: An Ngoc Lam, Vinh-Thuan Nguyen-Phuc
