Patent number: 11389396Abstract: Methods are taught for treating chronic wounds and skin and soft tissue infections with antibiotic tumescent injection. In such methods, the region of tumescent drug delivery is monitored and expanded by the infusate in order to be 2×-5× larger in area and volume in the region of the wound or infection, the drug in the infusate creates a tissue concentration greater than the MIC in the tumescent volume for selected period of time, and the high concentration has a residence lifetime in the tissue long enough to kill the bacteria. Typically, the methods are performed without the use of vasoconstrictors such as epinephrine and in a manner that avoids physical manipulation of the wound.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2017Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignee: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIAInventors: John Koulakis, Seth J. Putterman, James C. Dunn, Joshua Rouch, Nhan Huynh

Patent number: 8319118Abstract: An optical transceiver that reduces the EMI noise leaked therefrom is reduced is disclosed. The optical transceiver of the invention provides a metal housing, an optical subassembly, and an electronic circuit. The metal housing includes a first space that installs the electronic circuit and a second space that installs the optical subassembly. The first space and the second space are electrically shielded to each other, in addition that both spaces are shielded from the external. In the optical transceiver of the invention, even the second space provides the optical path to the optical connector, which becomes a definite leak path for the EMI noise, the leakage from the first space to the external through the optical path is prevented.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2009Date of Patent: November 27, 2012Assignee: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Phillip J. Publication number: 20080178594Abstract: This invention relates to the production of engines based on a new physical principle in which the engines will extremely quickly change the physical state of fluids or solids, especially the substances with low boiling points such as liquid water, liquid nitrogen, CO2 powder, in which the outputted mechanical energy is significantly greater than the inputted energy to operate the engine. The engine is called engine for dispersing matter into the surrounding space in order to produce mechanical energy, or in short, matter-dispersing engine. At the same time, this invention also relates to the production of engines based on the concept of extremely quickly changing of matter (or high-speed dispersion of matter into the surrounding space) with the result that the elements being changed their physical states in the engine will move at a great positive acceleration and apply to members of the engine and generate great amount of mechanical energy.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2007Publication date: July 31, 2008Inventor: Cong Nhan HUYNH

Patent number: 6907332Abstract: Precision alignment of auxiliary equipment on an aircraft is accomplished by a locating tool for the aircraft inertial reference unit (IRU) attached to the auxiliary equipment mount. Aircraft attitude and heading are obtained using the IRU. The IRU is removed from its avionics tray in the aircraft and installed on the locating tool. The locating tool is connected for remote operation of the IRU and the IRU is operated to obtain attitude and heading. This attitude and heading is then compared to the IRU reading for the attitude and heading of the aircraft.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2003Date of Patent: June 14, 2005Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Dan Nhan Huynh, Gary Michael Roth, John Edward Cawley
