Abstract: A torch with integral flashback arrestor and thermal shut-off device is provided. In one approach, a torch body includes a passageway of the torch body, and a cartridge assembly disposed within the passageway. The cartridge assembly may include at least one of: a resettable pressure-sensitive device, and a thermal shut-off device, wherein the pressure-sensitive device and the thermal shut-off device are modifiable from a first configuration to a second configuration in response to a pressure or temperature gradient in the torch body, and wherein the second configuration restricts flow through the passageway. The cartridge may further include a check valve disposed along the passageway, for example, within a bore of a bushing, or within a retainer coupled to the torch body at an inlet of the passageway.

Abstract: A gas flow safety device, such as a flashback arrestor, with flow indication includes a main body and a safety element. The main body has a flow capacity and is configured to direct a flow of gas from an inlet to an outlet. The safety element is disposed within the main body and prevents at least one of flashbacks and reverse flows of gas. The flashback arrestor may also include at least one of: an indicator assembly that automatically provides an indication when the flow capacity of the main body diminishes by a predetermined amount; and a movable internal mechanism that causes the apparatus to provide an indication when the flow capacity of the main body diminishes by the predetermined amount.

Abstract: A flashback arrestor for use in gas cutting or welding equipment includes a porous body which defines a proximal end portion and a distal end portion and which has a plurality of pores. Each of the pores defines a pore size. The pore size is a function of a detonation cell size such that the pore size is increased to reduce a size of the sintered body.

The gas torch also includes a cutting oxygen trigger and an ignition trigger operable to start preheat gas flow and to ignite the gas torch. The ignition trigger is configured for automatic disengagement of the auto-ignition system when the ignition trigger is released.
