The method for displaying information comprises: detecting whether a display screen of a terminal equipment switches from a screen-off state to a screen-on state when the display screen is in the screen-off state; displaying at least one information card on the display screen after it is detected that the display screen switches from the screen-off state to the screen-on state, wherein, the at least one information card includes information for informative purpose obtained from a network side, and the size of the at least one information card is smaller than that of the display screen.
