  • Publication number: 20220158857
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system manager for a network management system comprises: a PSE power management function implemented by a processor; and a cabling information database; wherein the PSE power management function is configured to couple to a power sourcing network switch via a network; wherein the PSE power management function, in response to a request to allocate power from the switch to a network powered device: determines a length of cabling for instances of network cabling that couples the network switch to the network powered device based on network cable length information stored in the cabling information database; determines a power loss based on the length of cabling; and transmits a power allocation command to the network switch to allocate a power level to a network port coupled to the network powered device based on the power loss and a power class of the network powered device.

  • Patent number: 10939494
Abstract: A combined cellular smart-mic and LMR radio terminal is operated to give preference to one wireless bearer over the other. A voice call is often received both on the cellular bearer and the LMR bearer. It is then determined if the cellular or LMR bearer is preferred for calls. The call continues on the preferred bearer only while the same call on the non-preferred bearer is discontinued. The non-preferred call can be muted, disabled or ended for example. The preferred bearer may be determined by signal quality, user location, network priority or user settings, for example.

  • Publication number: 20200127874
Abstract: Integration of a land mobile radio (LMR) communications system and other wireless IP based systems such as LTE by way of a virtual router and virtual base stations. The LMR system may be either trunked or conventional. The virtual router maintains LMR IDs and also IP addresses for both physical and virtual base stations, multi bearer terminals and other components of the integrated system. Physical LMR base stations form a physical network. Virtual LMR base stations form a virtual network. These physical and virtual LMR networks communicate using ISSI, AIS or DFSI for example.

  • Patent number: 10262656
Abstract: Methods of identifying available connector ports on rack mounted equipment use an image capture device to capture an image of a front face of an equipment rack. The captured image is compared to at least one stored image. A patch cord insertion status of at least one connector port included on an item of equipment that is mounted on the equipment rack is then determined based at least in part on the comparison of the captured image to the at least one stored image.

  • Patent number: 9723379
Abstract: Automated infrastructure management systems and methods document infrastructure elements within a facility, provide a comprehensive record of all network-connected equipment within a facility, and facilitate trouble shooting of network-connected equipment. An automated infrastructure management system includes a plurality of intelligent patch panels, each comprising a plurality of connector ports connected to individual communication channels of a network, a controller in communication with at least some of the intelligent patch panels that obtains connectivity information for the intelligent patch panel's ports, and management software in communication with the controller.

  • Publication number: 20160044572
Abstract: A communication system that enables remotely located LMR terminals to take part in calls within a normal LMR network using an intermediate bearer. A multi bearer device enables local direct mode communications from the terminal to use an IP backhaul network. LMR content may be received by the device and converted to an IP stream. Similarly an IP stream may be received by the device and transmitted to the LMR terminal. The system requires interconnected LMR and IP networks with the multi bearer device acting as a relay.
