    Abstract: A wearable device is described that is configured to alert a subject prior to encountering an obstacle. The subject may be visually-impaired. The device includes: a mobile transceiver tag adapted to be worn by a subject within a designated area (e.g., a swimming pool); three or more stationary transceiver beacons in spaced apart, fixed positions; a wearable signal output device (e.g., headset); and a processor with software that can calculate the subject's position relative to one or more obstacles (e.g., end of swimming lane) and sends a left, right, or reverse signal to the signal output device.

    Abstract: A method that allows for generation of personalized stereoscopic motion pictures is described. The motion picture comprises a plurality of individual scenes are displayed in a predefined sequence. Such scenes may be generated from animation or other computer generated graphics, a filming of living actors or a combination of both. Once the scenes that define the motion picture are generated one or more of these scenes can then be combined in real-time with subsequently recorded images or image sequences to introduce a level of personalisation into the motion picture.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus that displays metadata about a web page currently being displayed by a browser. While the web browser is communicating with a web server to obtain the requested web page, client software communicates with a database metadata server to obtain metadata about the requested page. After the browser receives its requested information from the web server, it displays the requested web page in a conventional manner. The client concurrently displays its received metadata on the same computer as the web page, and concurrently with the web page. A preferred embodiment of the present invention opens a button bar in conjunction with the web page display. This button bar allows the user to view various portions of the metadata for the displayed web page.
