Publication number: 20170008033Abstract: A rotating suction chamber apparatus for sorting a mixture of materials comprises a cylindrical drum with its upper end is at a higher elevation than its lower end. An upper housing connected to the upper end has a material intake for receiving the mixture of materials for introduction to the upper end. The mixture of materials includes a light fraction and a heavy fraction, and the upper housing has an outlet for the light fraction. A suction hood connected to the light fraction outlet includes a light separator shaft with a substantially vertical portion, and an air blower is adapted to create an airflow from the lower end, to the upper end, through the light fraction outlet and through the suction hood. A rotator rotates the drum about its longitudinal axis so that the heavy fraction is moved through the drum and falls out of the lower end.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2015Publication date: January 12, 2017Applicant: CP Manufacturing, Inc.Inventors: Nicholas Davis, Robert Davis

Publication number: 20160318070Abstract: A new and novel disc for use in a disc screen apparatus is disclosed. In one embodiment, the disc comprises a hub having a central bore, and a plurality of impacting arm elements extending radially therefrom, each of the impacting arm elements comprising an impacting arm and an impacting arm end portion, the impacting arm elements configured for engaging materials to be classified and propelling the materials in a conveying direction when the hub is rotated, at least some of the impacting arm elements comprising texturing imposed on a surface of one of the end portions for engaging the materials as the hub is rotated.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2015Publication date: November 3, 2016Applicant: CP MANUFACTURING, INC.Inventor: Nicholas Davis

Publication number: 20160318071Abstract: A disc for use in a disc screen is disclosed that creates an “intended space”—i.e., the designed space through which material is intended to pass—that undulates in both directions in the plane defined by the screen's rotatable shafts. The disc design includes a major axis that is rotated along the length of the shaft, creating a helical ridge. The ridge is continuous and non-stepwise, thereby avoiding the “pinch” of the prior art designs. And by having the helical ridge of adjacent discs on the same shaft with opposing rotations, the lateral movement of material may alternate along the length of the shaft—further spreading the material throughout the width of the disc screen and increasing the screen's efficiency.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2015Publication date: November 3, 2016Applicant: CP Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Nicholas Davis

Patent number: 9457380Abstract: A rotary sorting apparatus comprises a large-diameter rotary drum for sorting a mixture of materials received through a first end of the drum and expelled through a second end. A plurality of slew rings are attached circumferentially to the outer surface of the drum for supporting and rotating the drum. Each slew ring comprises an inner race placed concentrically within an outer race, with bearings between them allowing the inner race to rotate freely within the outer race. The inner surface of the inner race is attached to the outer surface of the drum and rotates with the drum, while the outer surface of the outer race is fixed to the supporting structure. A rotator, such as a wheel, in contact with the outer surface of the drum causes the drum to rotate about its longitudinal axis.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2015Date of Patent: October 4, 2016Assignee: CP Manufacturing, Inc.Inventor: Nicholas Davis

Patent number: 9387516Abstract: An improved multi-disc assembly and method for releasable attachment to a shaft of a disc screen apparatus. A multi-disc hub includes multiple discs configured for use in a material separation screen of a disc screen apparatus, and has a through bore configured for direct engagement over the shaft of a material separation screen. The multi-disc hub is comprised of at least two parts that detach from each other, and at least one part comprises a portion of the through bore cross-sectional area that is less than or equal to half of the total through-bore cross-sectional area. A fastener is adapted to attach at least one hub part to the shaft, and the fastener provides a force that is greater than the force of gravity to temporarily retain the hub part onto the shaft when the shaft is rotated.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2015Date of Patent: July 12, 2016Assignee: CP MANUFACTURING, INC.Inventors: Nicholas Davis, James D Weller

Patent number: 8850519Abstract: Systems and methods for providing authentication using an arrangement of dynamic graphical images. The graphical images can be arranged as a grid or matrix for presentation on a device display for authentication of a user. The kinds of graphical images can be derived from a designated authentication category and non-authenticating categories. A series of password elements corresponding to the graphical images can be displayed with the graphical images. The user may enter the series of one or more password elements corresponding to graphical images from the authentication category which combine to form a password entry. An authentication server can compare the password entry to an authentication password corresponding to the particular arrangement of dynamic graphical images. The selection of graphical images, their arrangement and their corresponding password elements, may dynamically change in between authentication processes.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2010Date of Patent: September 30, 2014Assignee: Confident Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Steven L. Osborn, Nicholas A. Davis, James L. Sontag, Joel Norvell

Patent number: 8812861Abstract: A method and system for protection of and secure access to a computer system or computer network. The method includes the steps of receiving a first login account identifier, such as a user name from a user in communication with the computer system or network. A determination is made if the user is recognized and enrolled from the first login account from the first login account identifier. If the user is recognized, a grid of randomly generated visual images is displayed including one visual image from an image category which has been preselected by the user upon enrollment. An image category identifier is randomly assigned to each visual image in the grid. An image category identifier, second login account identifier, such as a password, is entered and received. If the login account identifier and the image category is validated, access is permitted to the computer system or network.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2011Date of Patent: August 19, 2014Assignee: Confident Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Steven L.
