    Abstract: Described here are self-contained surgical navigation systems which include a head-worn display device to be worn by a user during surgery. The system includes a display generator for generating a visual display on the display device, and a sensor suite having at least one tracking camera. The system further includes a support module including: a user-replaceable, modular battery that is reversibly insertable into a housing of the support module, and a processor unit configured to receive data from the sensor suite and calculate a position and an orientation of at least one marker. The support module is electrically coupled to the head-worn display device to provide power and data to the head-worn display device. The display device and the support module together comprise the entire sensing and computing capability of the system, without requiring external sensors, cameras, computers, or other electrical equipment.

    Abstract: A method of diffusion bonding metal or metal alloy containing workpieces, comprises (a) coating the bonding surfaces of the metal or metal alloy containing workpieces with a layer of a coating material, (b) abrading the coated bonding surfaces to remove surface oxide, the coating material being in liquid form, (c) removing excess coating material or excess abraded metal or metal alloy containing workpiece material from the coated bonding surfaces, and (d) diffusion bonding the coated bonding surfaces of the metal or metal alloy containing workpieces together. The coating material is operable to form a stable barrier on the bonding surfaces of the metal or metal alloy containing workpieces under ambient conditions, and evaporates from the bonding surfaces under diffusion bonding conditions. There is also a bonded workpiece formed using the method of diffusion bonding metal or metal alloy containing workpieces.

The imager also includes a permanent magnet positioned in the sidewall of the housing, a radio frequency coil positioned in the sidewall of the housing between the permanent magnet and the passage, a gradient field in the sidewall of the housing between the permanent magnet and the radio frequency coil, and a chemically-selective imager. The chemically-selective imager is operatively connected to the radio frequency coil to selectively pulse frequencies according to a pulse sequence whereby individual fluid measurements of the sample are generated.
