  • Patent number: 8069621
Abstract: A ridge ventilator for covering an open ridge of a roof while promoting ventilation of a space beneath the roof. The ridge ventilator has a sectional body having a first side and a second side, a number of partitions extending across said body between said sides, as well as a first end and a second end. The vent body has a width between said sides to permit said body to be laid over and cover an open ridge in a roof formed at the peak. The body also includes a recessed middle portion in a top face of the body, the recess being sized and shaped to accommodate roofing cap shingles. The body also includes opposed raised and curved, in side view, air foil side sections; which have a grill to permit air to pass therethrough between a space beneath said roof and the outside, the air foil side sections being sized and shaped to create, in a wind passing over the air foil sections, a low pressure adjacent to the grill to facilitate drawing air out of the space.

  • Patent number: 7300588
Abstract: A method for pretreating a wastewater stream containing grease and food particles before the stream enters a sewer includes the steps of directing said wastewater stream to a separation area; directing said wastewater stream along a preferred flow path within said separation area, said preferred flow path being sized and shaped to permit said grease to rise out of said wastewater stream; trapping said grease which rises out of said wastewater stream; extending a wastewater outlet substantially across said separation area; accelerating said remaining wastewater, carrying said food particles, through said outlet from said separation area, thereby sucking said food particles away from said separation area; and directing said wastewater and said food particles toward said sewer system.

  • Patent number: 7011752
Abstract: A wastewater separator to separate waste from a mixed wastewater stream including one or more of heavy waste, light waste and water. The wastewater separator comprises a separation container, a inlet and an outlet. The separation container comprises (1) a wastewater stream director within the separation container, the wastewater stream director being sized, shaped and positioned relative to the wastewater inlet to direct the wastewater stream along a preferred flow path to permit the light waste to separate from the wastewater stream in a first direction to a collection area and to permit the heavy waste to separate from the wastewater stream in a second direction towards a heavy waste removal area; and (2) a flow-directing outlet baffle within the separation container for directing the wastewater stream to the wastewater outlet from the heavy waste removal area to remove the heavy waste from the separation container.

  • Patent number: 5074627
Abstract: An anti-tilt mechanism is provided for a multi-drawer cabinet. The mechanism has a number of housings each of which has a respective locking cam mounted in it. The locking cams are rotatable about respective cam axes from an inactivated position in which they have a first effective height, to an activated position in which they have a second effective height. The second effective height is greater than the first effective height. The cam is longitudinally moveable within the housing a distance generally corresponding into the difference between the first and second effective heights. Actuating means reacting to movement of the drawers are provided for rotating the cam between the activated and inactivated positions. Respective locking rods extend between adjacent locking cams and are longitudinally moveable with the cams. The anti-tilt mechanism may include a locking mechanism having stop means which limit longitudinal movement of at least one of the cams within its respective housing.
