  • Publication number: 20190009617
Abstract: A tire is provided with a tread having microsipes along lateral edges such as the leading edge, trailing edge, or both of various tread features. The microsipes are oriented substantially along the longitudinal direction. In contravention of conventional teachings, the addition of these microsipes has been found to improve rolling resistance, dry braking, or both. The microsipes can be located along edges that are chamfered as well.

  • Publication number: 20180135238
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for cleaning and/or washing down and/or feathers comprising: (a) mixing the down and/or feathers with a solution of an alkyl polyglucoside; (b) optionally adding simultaneously or sequentially a solution of a Group 4 metal salt to the mixture of (a); and (c) removing excess liquid; and (d) optionally drying the down and/or feathers. The invention also relates to down and/or feathers prepared according to such a process. The invention additionally relates to a down and/or feather washing and/or cleaning composition for rendering the down and/or feathers hydrophobic comprising a solution of an alkyl polyglucoside, optionally a solution of a Group 4 metal salt, and a water-repellent treatment.

  • Patent number: 9951965
Abstract: A method for heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems is described. In one embodiment, the method includes measuring a temperature of a first room of a building via a first thermometer placed in the first room and measuring a temperature of a second room of the building via a second thermometer placed in the second room and receiving the temperature of the first room via a first data communication device communicatively coupled to a first HVAC register in the first room and receiving the temperature of the second room via a second data communication device communicatively coupled to a second HVAC register in the second room. In some cases, the first data communication device is configured to communicate data between the first thermometer and a central automation controller and the second data communication device is configured to communicate data between the second thermometer and the central automation controller.

  • Patent number: 9841740
Abstract: According to at least one embodiment, a computer-implemented method to implement at least one automation rule is described. The at least one automation rule may be generated, wherein the at least one automation rule may control at least one aspect of an automation system. The execution origination point may be selected for the at least one automation rule based at least in part on the one or more implementation parameters. The one or more implementation parameters may comprise at least one of the speed of the automation rule execution, the scalability of the automation rule, the flexibility of the automation rule conditions, or the ease of automation rule modification.

  • Publication number: 20170241535
Abstract: A method for repairing a gear part (1) in a wind turbine, in particular repairing damaged teeth of a toothed rim (2). A repair cavity (10) is formed by removing material, including one or more damaged teeth, from the gear part (1) by drilling one or more holes through the gear part (1) along a direction which is substantially parallel to an axis of circular symmetry of the gear part (1). A repair segment (15) comprising one or more replacement gear teeth (16), and having a geometry which matches a geometry of the repair cavity (10), is arranged in the repair cavity (10), and attached to the gear part (1) by introducing one or more fasteners (17) into fastener openings (11, 13, 14) formed in the gear part (1).
