Abstract: An end fitting for terminating an end of a hose including a tubular body of flexible material arranged between inner and outer gripping members, wherein the end fitting includes: an inner member adapted to be disposed at least partially within the hose; a sealing member adapted to seal at least part of the tubular body fully around the circumference between the sealing member and the inner member; and a separate load transfer member adapted to transfer axial loads between the hose and the inner member in such a manner that said axial loads are diverted around the sealing member in order to reduce, or eliminate, the axial load on the hose between the sealing member and the inner member, and wherein the sealing member is adapted to seal against the tubular body independently of the application of axial loads between the hose and the inner member.

Abstract: In a data storage system, events are associated with the state of a data set at specific points in time, the data set being a collection of addressable storage that is modified by a host computer system writing to specific addresses, by capturing copies of writes made by the host to the data set, each copied write having write data and address. Sequence information is assigned to the captured writes to organize the captured writes in the time sequence in which the writes were captured. Absolute time information is assigned to each captured write. Each captured write is retained as an entry in a repository, the entry including write data, address, sequence information, and absolute time information. An event is associated to a specific entry in the repository. The association is retained for subsequent use.

Abstract: An amusement park wireless transceiver associated with a guest account designator for a plurality of attraction facilities comprises a central computer, and a plurality of attraction facility computers. Each of the attraction facility computers is associated with one of the attraction facilities. A plurality of communication channels couple information in two directions between the central computer and the plurality of attraction facility computers, An input device is provided for receiving information indicating the number of persons in a group entering the amusement park and for assigning a guest account designator to each group, and for assigning an individual guest identification designator. A detectable marker unit is adapted to be physically associated with each guest and encoded with the guest's account designator. A wireless transceiver associated with the guest account designator communicates with the central computer to send and receive information.

Abstract: This invention relates to flexible tubular conduits or pipes particularly in situations where the conduits need to withstand relatively high pressures. In such cases, the conduits are reinforced by helically wound armor which is compliant in flexure, and profiled to allow each subsequent turn to interlock with the previous turn.

Abstract: Polymers are randomly labelled with labelling groups such as fluorophores, by a process of creating free radicals on the polymer in the presence of a stable free radical, such as an aminooxyl compound, so that the stable free radical group bonds to the polymer in random fashion. Labelling groups such as fluorophores are attached to the stable free radical groups, before or after they are attached to the polymer. The process allows labelling of polymers having no reactive functional groups, it can also be applied to the labelling of nucleic acids, for use in conjunction with a PCR chain extension sequencing process, to allow the sequencing of target nucleic acids of high molecular weight.
