Patent number: 11798348Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods for enhancing or otherwise modifying gaming indicia sources, such as slot game reels sourcing slot games, poker decks sourcing poker hands, etc. Slot game embodiments involve replacing or modifying symbols with new or transformed symbols on a slot game event basis, such as on a spin-by-spin basis. Multiple sets of different symbol replacement instructions may be provided, such that selection of one of the sets will cause different modifications to the slot reels than had another set been selected. Embodiments enable such selection and reel variation on a spin-by-spin basis in slot games.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2020Date of Patent: October 24, 2023Inventor: Nicholas Compton

Publication number: 20230261300Abstract: A structural battery pack includes a bottom cover, a bottom cell carrier, multiple battery cells, a cooling ribbon, a top cell carrier, and a top cover. The bottom cover has a rectangular shape that defines a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction. The bottom cell carrier is coupled to the bottom cover, and defines multiple bottom holders. The bottom holders are arranged in a hexagon pattern that defines multiple rows in the longitudinal direction and multiple columns in the lateral direction. The top cell carrier is coupled to the top cover, defines multiple top holders, and includes an interconnect board that interconnects the battery cells. The top holders are arranged in the hexagon pattern. The battery cells are installed in the bottom cell carrier and the top cell carrier. Each battery cell has a cylindrical shape. The cooling ribbon is installed between the battery cells along the rows.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2022Publication date: August 17, 2023Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Nicholas Compton, Giles D. Publication number: 20230253679Abstract: An interconnect board assembly includes a busbar assembly with at least one track having a plurality of busbars. The interconnect board assembly may be used with a power module having a plurality of battery cells. The interconnect board assembly includes a senseline assembly having a plurality of traces extending in proximity to the at least one track. An overmolded board frame is integrally formed over the busbar assembly and the senseline assembly. The overmolded board frame defines a first surface and a second surface. The overmolded board frame is configured such that a rigid load path is completed when the busbar assembly is joined to the senseline assembly and the plurality of battery cells.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2022Publication date: August 10, 2023Applicant: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Mitchell Stojanovski, Nicholas Compton, Annabella Wong

Patent number: 10971786Abstract: A cell stack includes adjacent first and second battery cells respectively having a positive cell tab, a negative cell tab, and an outer surface. The outer surfaces are flush. The positive cell tab of the first battery cell protrudes from the outer surface of the first battery cell, and the negative cell tab of the second battery cell protrudes from the outer surface of the second battery cell. An isolative shield is positioned adjacent to the outer surfaces, and defines through-slots receiving therein a respective one of the cell tabs. A method includes providing the cell stack, inserting the cell tabs into the pair of through-slots of the isolative shield, positioning a primary surface of the isolative shield adjacent to the outer surfaces of the adjacent battery cells after inserting the cell tabs, and affixing the primary surface of the isolative shield to the cell stack.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2018Date of Patent: April 6, 2021Assignee: GM Global Technology Operations LLCInventors: Nicholas Compton, Igor M. Patent number: 10699517Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods for facilitating replay of a subset of a game play grid. In the context of a slot game, a player is allowed to respin a reel(s) in an effort to improve the gaming activity result. The respin cost may be calculated by determining estimated values for each distinct symbol type on the reel providing the replacement symbols, and determining a total estimated value for all symbol types, rather than cycling through all permutations of symbol combinations resulting from the state of the slot grid and the replacement reel.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2017Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Inventors: Bradley Berman, Jacob Lamb, Nicholas Compton
