  • Patent number: 5201709
Abstract: A disposable hypodermic syringe which is self-destructing upon a single use has an elongate, cylindrical barrel with an adapter means on one end for attachment of a needle and an open other end. A plunger and piston carried thereby are reciprocable in the barrel. The improvement comprises releasable, interengaged flange means on the piston and plunger for holding the piston and plunger assembled together during initial retraction of the plunger and piston in the barrel but which is operative to disengage the mutually engaged flange means upon forward movement of the plunger in the barrel, whereby subsequent retraction of the plunger results in separation of the piston and plunger, rendering the syringe inoperative for subsequent reuse.

  • Patent number: 4222500
Abstract: A non-propellant operated, duration spray dispenser includes structure for mechanically pressurizing the material to be dispensed by pumping it into an expansible bulb for storage under pressure for subsequent dispensing of the material, and a snap-acting positive shut off valve is provided to terminate discharge of the material when pressure falls below a predetermined minimum.

  • Patent number: 4222501
Abstract: A trigger operated dispenser includes a plurality of expansible chambers, with one of the chambers comprising a pumping chamber connected to be operated by the trigger, and another chamber connected to receive product from the pumping chamber and operative to expand and accumulate an amount of product for continuous discharge of the product through the nozzle, whereby continuous discharge of the product is obtained during both pressurization and intake modes of operation of the trigger operated pumping chamber.

  • Patent number: 4176764
Abstract: A mechanically operated mixing dispenser for mixing and discharging materials under pressure, includes a plurality of accumulating chambers for receiving and accumulating materials to be mixed and dispensed and operable to discharge the materials under pressure over a sustained period of time, and a plurality of expansible chambers connected with sources of the different materials and with the accumulating chambers for transferring the materials from their respective sources to a respective accumulating chamber for storage of the materials under pressure.

  • Patent number: 4174052
Abstract: An economical and easy to operate mechanically operated dispensing device has a rotatable actuator connected with at least one expansible chamber to effect operation of the expansible chamber to draw material to be dispensed from a container into the expansible chamber and to then pressurize the material. An expansible bulb is connected with the expansible chamber and with a dispensing nozzle, and has a volumetric capacity several times as great as the expansible chamber. Valves are associated with the bulb to control flow into and out of the bulb, whereby the rotatable actuator and expansible chamber are operative to repeatedly draw material from the container, pressurize it and transfer it under pressure into the bulb, the bulb expanding as material is added thereto, and the elasticity of the bulb being such as to exert a substantial pressure on the material in the bulb.

  • Patent number: 4174055
Abstract: A non-aerosol pressure dispenser includes a pressurization chamber having a piston reciprocable therein and a manual actuator extends from outside the chamber into operative association with the piston. The actuator is reciprocable in a first direction to move the piston to compress a spring engaged therewith and to draw material into the chamber. The spring urges the piston in a second direction to pressurize the material in the chamber and a discharge valve or nozzle is connected with the chamber to release the pressurized contents thereof over a desired prolonged period of time and at a sufficient pressure to obtain a fine mist of the material.

  • Patent number: 4162030
Abstract: A disposable package dispenser comprises a replaceable, collapsible, prefilled package of the product to be dispensed, and includes a product discharge member and attachment structure for releasably attaching the package to a pressurizable dispensing container. The container includes a manually operable expansible chamber to pressurize the interior of the container and thus the collapsible product containing package to collapse the package and effect pressurized discharge of the product when the discharge member is operated.

  • Patent number: 4105145
Abstract: A dispensing device includes a manually operable loading member carried by and accessible exteriorly of a container having a material to be dispensed, with the loading member connected through a gear arrangement with a material dispensing piston reciprocable in a dispensing chamber which is in communication with the interior of the container. Operation of the loading member in a first direction effects reciprocation of the piston in a first direction to draw material into the dispensing chamber, and a spring acts on the piston to move it in a second direction to dispense the material from the chamber through a nozzle for use as desired.
