  • Patent number: 11048098
Abstract: A shape memory alloy actuator arrangement for a movable element supporting a camera lens assembly comprises plural shape memory alloy actuator wires connected between a support structure and the movable element in an arrangement wherein the shape memory alloy actuator wires are arranged, on selective driving, to move the movable element relative to the support structure in any direction orthogonal to the optical axis of the at least one lens. At least one plain bearing bears the movable element on the support structure, allowing movement of the movable element relative to the support structure orthogonal to the optical axis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 13, 2020
Date of Patent: June 29, 2021
    Assignee: Cambridge Mechatronics Limited
Inventors: James Howarth, Robin Eddington, Nicholas Henry Reddall
  • Patent number: 10866382
Abstract: A miniature camera having an image sensor; an actuator which includes conductive components capable of conducting a pulse width modulation drive signal for driving the actuator; and a screening component located between the conductive components of the actuator and the image sensor, the screening component being electrically isolated from the actuator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 2017
Date of Patent: December 15, 2020
    Assignee: Cambridge Mechatronics Limited
Inventors: James Howarth, Andrew Benjamin David Brown, Igor Gotlibovych, Robin Eddington, Ian Edward Charles Rogers, Nicholas Henry Reddall

  • Publication number: 20140371690
Abstract: A hand-held applicator (10) for self-administration of a semi-solid medicament comprises an applicator head (14) with one or more elongate dispensing nozzles (40) and an applicator body (12) for housing a medicament reservoir, such as a cartridge (20). The applicator has a pump assembly and an actuator (30) for pumping the medicament from the one or more of the dispensing nozzles. The applicator head and applicator body are fixed relative to each other in use such that movement of the nozzle or nozzles away from the scalp or other body area during actuation may be avoided. The applicator may further include an application face for spreading medicament over a body area thereby enabling dual functionality as a scalp and body applicator. A dispensing system in the form of a dispensing head and cartridge therefor is also described and characterised by venting features for improving priming of the dispenser. Such priming means are suitable for use in the applicators of the application.
