  • Publication number: 20200368163
Abstract: The present technology relates to encapsulated particles of cannabidiol (CBD) by confined impingement jet (CIJ) mixing or multi-inlet vortex mixing (MIVM). The methods and processes employ intense, turbulent mixing of a solvent stream and an antisolvent stream, to generate self-assembled drug-encapsulating particles stabilized by a polymer. The CBD particles are unexpectedly and advantageously stable in an aqueous environment. They may be subsequently used in the formulation of a variety of products for oral ingestion, including powders for tablets, within creams, or beverage formulations. The resultant products are further highly stable over extended periods of time.
