  • Publication number: 20170141245
Abstract: A conductive paste composition contains a source of an electrically conductive metal, a first oxide component comprising an alkali metal vanadium oxide composition, an optional second non-oxide, non-metal component, and an organic vehicle. An article such as a high-efficiency photovoltaic cell is formed by a process of deposition of the paste composition on a semiconductor device substrate (e.g., by screen printing) and firing the paste to remove the organic vehicle and sinter the metal and establish electrical contact between it and the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20150357494
Abstract: A gas permeation barrier structure comprises a rigid or flexible substrate, an oxide or nitride layer deposited thereon by atomic layer deposition (ALD), and a polymeric clear coat. The presence of the polymeric clear coat permits the barrier structure to maintain resistance to permeation of gases including oxygen and water vapor longer than would a structure in which the ALD layer is directly exposed to atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20130056065
Abstract: In a first aspect, a transparent film includes a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer layer having an organosilane coupling agent treated surface such that the treated surface of the transparent film, when directly laminated to an encapsulant layer including ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, forms a multilayer film with an average peel strength between the transparent film and the encapsulant layer of greater than 2 lbf/in after curing to crosslink the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and then 1000 hrs of damp heat exposure. In a second aspect, a weatherable multilayer film includes a transparent film and an encapsulant layer. The transparent film includes a tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer layer having an organosilane coupling agent treated surface. The encapsulant layer is directly laminated to the treated surface of the transparent film.

  • Publication number: 20090092784
Abstract: A fibrillar structure and a method of making it. The structure comprises a backing layer, a plurality of fibrils and a contacting region. The method of making it comprises constructing a synthetic fibrillar array, preparing a liquid material on a substrate and contacting the fibrillar array with the liquid material.
