    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite storage tank for liquid hydrogen. The method includes placing a port on a layup tool. The port includes a flange portion and a conduit portion projecting from the flange portion. The conduit portion includes a passage extending through the conduit portion. The method also includes laying up a plurality of reinforcing fiber tows on the layup tool to integrate the flange portion of the port with the plurality of reinforcing fiber tows. The plurality of reinforcing fiber tows is laid up to form at least a portion of a preform including the port for the composite storage tank. The method further includes introducing a matrix material to the preform and curing the preform including the matrix material to generate the composite storage tank.

A deicing program causes the controller to control (a) providing imaging signals to obtain image data from imaging sensors, (b) receiving image data provided by each of the imaging sensors, and generates images of at least one component part of the engine, (c) detecting a presence or an absence of ice on the at least one component part of the engine, and (d) controlling the plurality of sonic wave transmitters to emit sonic waves in a given frequency range so as to remove the ice from the component part of the engine.
