    Abstract: Cladding deposit compositions with improved surface roughness are provided by balancing percent weights of finely dispersed carbides such as Boron (B), Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo), Niobium (Nb), Vanadium (V), and Tungsten (W). The result is a deposit with high surface roughness, high hardness, and high stress abrasion resistance while increasing bond strength from ˜7,000 psi to ˜60,000 psi when compared to typical anti-skid cladding alloys.
