  • Patent number: 10725125
Abstract: A field device includes a housing that contains field device circuitry, a display coupled to the field device circuitry and viewable through the housing, and a movable control positioned around the housing, the movable control including a magnet. The field device further includes a sensing element disposed within the housing and configured to detect movement of the magnet. In addition, the field device includes a processor coupled to the display and the sensing element. The processor is configured to identify a position of the movable control, based on the detected movement of the magnet, and control a user interface on the display, based on the identified position of the movable control.

    Assignee: Rosemount Inc.
Inventors: Eugene Korolev, Nicholas John Haywood
  • Patent number: 10612365
Abstract: A pressure sensor capsule includes a capsule body, an isolator, a pressure sensor, and a fluid fill pathway. The capsule body defines a process chamber. The isolator is supported by the capsule body and is exposed to the process chamber. The pressure sensor produces a sensor output that is indicative of a pressure within an interior chamber, which is isolated from the process chamber by the isolator. The fluid fill pathway extends from the process chamber to the interior chamber.

  • Patent number: 9638600
Abstract: A process fluid pressure sensor assembly includes a pressure sensor configured to sense a pressure of a process fluid. The assembly includes a pressure sensor body formed of an insulating material. The pressure sensor includes a plurality of electrical contact pads which couple to a pressure sensing element of the body of the pressure sensor. An interconnect body is configured to fit over an end of the pressure sensor body. A plurality of electrical connectors carried in the interconnect body are in electrical contact with the plurality of electrical contact pads. A wiring harness attaches to the interconnect body and includes a plurality of wires which are electrically connected to the plurality of electrical connectors.

  • Patent number: 9459170
Abstract: A pressure measurement assembly is provided. The assembly includes a pressure sensor mount having an aperture therethrough. A pressure sensor passes through and is mounted to the aperture. The pressure sensor has an electrical characteristic that varies with applied pressure. An isolator plug is configured to be exposed to a process fluid. The isolator plug has an isolation diaphragm disposed to contact the process fluid. A passageway is fluidically coupled to the isolation diaphragm to convey process fluid pressure from the isolation diaphragm to the pressure sensor through an incompressible fluid. The pressure sensor mount is coupled to the isolator plug and has a non-circular shape when viewed along an axis of the aperture.

  • Patent number: 7984652
Abstract: An industrial process transmitter apparatus includes a housing chassis of a first metallic material and a housing skin of a second metallic material. The housing chassis includes a substantially cylindrical body portion, a first circumferentially extending support member located at or near a first end of the body portion of the housing chassis, and a second circumferentially extending support member located at or near a second end of the body portion of the housing chassis opposite the first end. The first circumferentially extending support member extends radially outward from the body portion, and the second circumferentially extending support member extends radially outward from the body portion. The housing skin is fitted over the housing chassis and is in physical contact with both the first and second circumferentially extending support members. The housing skin is spaced from the housing chassis in between the first and second circumferentially extending support members.
