Abstract: A coupon system for evaluating underdeposit corrosion relating to an industrial pipeline includes a first coupon body, and a second coupon body configured to be coupled to the first coupon body so that the first coupon body covers at least a portion of the second coupon body. The second coupon body is configured to receive one or more corrosive materials in a space formed between the first coupon body and the second coupon body.

Abstract: A novel metal-based ion-selective electrode sensor for the detection of under deposit corrosions in sour media is disclosed. The sensor can be fabricated by the sequencing electrochemical polarization followed by functionalization with an organic-inorganic layer via impregnation and polymerization. The hybrid modified multifunctional sensor allows successful selective screening and monitoring of the concertation of soluble chloride ions in sour and sweet media. The sensor is portable, durable, cost-effective, and feasible for practical commercial utilizations.
