Publication number: 20250220089Abstract: A central database system provides predictive web navigation using machine learning and clustering to guide a user to a web page. After tracking a number of web pages viewed by various users on one or more web domains and the orders in which these web pages are viewed, the central database system can train a model to predict which web page a user is likely to view next. If the user is lost while navigating, the central database system may guide the user to the predicted web page. In one example of guidance, the central database system presents a web element with a hyperlink to the predicted web page. For example, the central database system can modify a web page that the lost user is presently viewing to include an iframe with a recommendation to travel to a different web page.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2025Publication date: July 3, 2025Inventors: John Edward Schlerf, Nicholas Lee Gaylord, Melanie Manguin

Publication number: 20250153593Abstract: A battery control component of an electric vehicle may limit charging of a battery on the electric vehicle to a target state of charge (SOC), such as to reserve battery capacity for regenerative braking during downgrades. A computing device associated with the vehicle may calculate an estimated gradient profile and/or an estimated total energy consumption of a predicted upcoming route of the vehicle based on one or more data items, such as GPS data, altitude data, and/or map data. The computing device may determine a target SOC based on the estimated gradient profile. The computing device may determine a confidence factor associated with the estimated gradient profile, where the confidence factor depends on the quantity of data items used to calculate the estimated gradient profile. The computing device may adjust the target SOC based on the confidence factor.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2024Publication date: May 15, 2025Applicant: PACCAR IncInventors: Satvik Khuntia, Nicholas Lee Hertlein, Maarten Meijer, James Nelson

Publication number: 20250121650Abstract: A battery heating and cooling system may be used to provide ancillary heating and cooling to an occupant zone of a vehicle. The battery heating and cooling system may include a battery heating/cooling loop and a hydronic system heating/cooling loop. Upon receiving an indication to heat/cool the occupant zone, a battery management system may cause the battery heating and cooling system to direct coolant to the hydronic system heating/cooling loop to heat/cool the occupant zone toward a target occupant zone temperature. In some examples, the battery heating and cooling system directs coolant to the hydronic system heating/cooling loop during battery preconditioning or while heating/cooling the battery during operation of the vehicle. The target occupant zone temperature may correspond to a target battery temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 11, 2023Publication date: April 17, 2025Inventors: Charles Wayne Reinhardt SWART, Mazen Nabil NACHAWATI, Nicholas Lee HERTLEIN

Patent number: 12269425Abstract: Techniques are presented for enabling vehicle immobilization based on location. One method includes providing a user interface to configure immobilization settings. The vehicle is configured for threat detection, and a data structure is created to define locations where immobilization is enabled. A Behavioral Monitoring System (BMS) prepares and sends a hierarchical map structure to the vehicle's communication device, which determines when to immobilize the vehicle based on its location. The communication device and engine immobilizer are installed in the vehicle. Continuous monitoring for tampering and jamming is performed, and upon detection, the method checks if geographic locking is enabled. If geographic locking is enabled, the vehicle is immobilized according to configuration rules, and the BMS is notified. The immobilization process can be ended based on predefined configuration parameters, such as a time interval, recovery of GPS signal, or driver notification.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2024Date of Patent: April 8, 2025Assignee: Samsara Inc.Inventors: Oleksandr Zhevzhyk, James Michael Rowson, Nicholas Lee Grauman

Publication number: 20240402137Abstract: Acoustic inspection systems and methods are described herein useful to determining microstructural characteristics, such as microtexture regions (MTRs), of a material sample. In some embodiments, a method of determining a material characteristic of a material sample includes transmitting acoustic waves from transducer having a concave face that includes one or more piezoelectric elements through a coupling medium and to a surface of a material sample to produce surface acoustic waves along a portion of a surface of the material sample. The one or more piezoelectric elements of the concave face may operate as at least one of an acoustic transmitter or an acoustic receiver. The method also includes receiving the surface acoustic waves reflected from the surface of the material sample at the concave face. The method then includes determining at least one material characteristic of the material sample based on a property of the surface acoustic waves.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2024Publication date: December 5, 2024Inventors: Richard Eugene Klaassen, Andrew Philip Woodfield, William Andrew Sharp, II, Luc The Nguyen, Nicholas Lee Van Zandt
