  • Publication number: 20110055404
Abstract: A method for managing communication in a system having a device in communication with a server via a communication path which includes gateway. A communication session is initiated by transmitting a request signal from the device to the gateway. The signal is then routed through the gateway, and the signal is then transmitted from the gateway to the server.

  • Patent number: 7858026
Abstract: A method of detecting bacterial kill using a vaporized sterilant includes the steps of generating a sterilant/water vapour and supplying the vapour to a sealed space to be sterilized. The supply of sterilant/water vapour is continued to raise the concentration of the sterilant in the sealed space, and the concentration of the sterilant in the vapour is monitored to determine when the rate of change of the concentration falls to a predetermined minimal level indicating that condensation has occurred resulting in kill of any bacteria present in the space. Supply of sterilant/water vapour to the space is then terminated.

  • Patent number: 7790104
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a portable apparatus for decontaminating an enclosed room or other space which includes a passageway having an air inlet at one end and an outlet at the other end. A pump causes a flow of air through the passageway from the inlet to the outlet. A heater heats the air flowing through the passageway to a predetermined temperature, a flash evaporator being in communication with the passageway. Liquid decontaminant is pumped from a supply of decontaminant to the evaporator to be evaporated and for the evaporant to be delivered to the air flow in the passage to flow in the air flow from the outlet to the rooms to be decontaminated. A universally rotating nozzle is provided at the outlet to distribute the decontaminant containing air throughout the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 7752987
Abstract: A sail assembly having a single, closed-loop support batten that supports a flexible sail. The sail is a hollow body defining a substantially hemispherical shape when fully expanded by captured wind. The support batten is housed in a perimeter sleeve at the front end of the sail. The support batten is stiff enough to support the sail, yet elastic enough that it can be twisted and coiled as three contiguous coils for compact folding. The sail has a significantly smaller size in the folded and coiled orientation, and is capable of rapid self deployment due to the energy stored in the folded batten. The deployed sail can be fastened to the deck of a small watercraft, hand held, or fastened to the blade end of a paddle or oar for capturing the energy in the wind to propel a small watercraft.

  • Patent number: 7562084
Abstract: A method for managing an asset that includes acquiring an information model request for managing the asset, wherein the information model request is in an information model format, identifying a name and a type of an attribute from the information model request, obtaining a mapping specification entry matching the name and the type of the attribute, translating the information model request from the information model format to a data acquisition (DAQ) format based on the mapping specification entry to create a translated request, managing the asset according to the translated request to obtain management information, and transmitting the management information to an information model.

  • Publication number: 20090139438
Abstract: A sail device or assembly that contains a single supporting perimeter member or batten that supports an internal 3-dimensional sail area used for down or off the wind sailing. The perimeter batten is stiff enough to hold and support the sail material yet elastic enough that it can be folded and coiled into three contiguous coils. This folded and coiled orientation is approximately 20% smaller and has a spring-like energy used to essentially self-launch and instantly deploy the sail. The deployed sail can be fastened to the deck of a small watercraft, hand-held or fastened to the blade end of a paddle or oar for capturing the energy in the wind to propel a small watercraft.

  • Publication number: 20090077641
Abstract: A collaborative engine electronically processes a request for a result using inference logic. If insufficient goals are provided to resolve the request, a partial result is generated as a function of one or more unresolvable goals. The request for a result may be processed with two or more collaborative engines using workspace chaining, to process information from/to multiple domains or systems which have security restrictions preventing full flow of information between them. Inputs available to the workspace of one collaborative engine are resolved as far as possible and a partial result based on that processing is generated and transmitted for further processing in the workspace of another collaborative engine. The invention may be used for determining a routing path for data or telephonic communication to/from a user of a communication network, or for processing of a management action for a component of an electronic data network, or a commercial transaction.

  • Publication number: 20080318891
Abstract: Antisense oligonucleotides targeted to sequences in thymidylate synthase (TS) mRNA. In particular the invention relates to antisense oligonucleotides targeted to sequences in the 3? end of TS mRNA, which are both cytostatic on their own when administered to human tumour cell lines, and which also enhance the toxicity of anticancer drugs. The invention further relates to a combination product comprising an antisense oligonucleotide in combination with an anticancer agent such as Tomudex or pemetrexed and to the use of such a combination product in the treatment of cancer.
