Abstract: A method for treating a breathing condition includes providing a face strip having an adhesive layer and a mesh layer disposed on the adhesive layer and applying the adhesive layer to a mouth of a patient diagnosed with a breathing condition including at least one of a dry mouth, a sore throat, nasal congestion, or hypoxia. The method further includes covering the patient's mouth with the face strip and providing resistance from the face strip at the patient's mouth, and increasing nasal respiration with the face strip. The face strip reduces or prevents the incidence of the breathing condition.

Abstract: A surgical facemask includes a textile element configured to cover a mouth and nose region of a user, and an adhesive element applied to a perimeter of the textile element and configured to secure the textile element to a face of the user. Application of the surgical facemask using the adhesive element seals the mouth and nose region of the user from an exterior region such that particulate cannot traverse between the mouth and nose region and the exterior region without permeating the textile element.

Abstract: A method for treating sleep-disordered breathing in a patient includes prior to sleeping, placing a sleep strip on a face of the patient, the sleep strip being configured to maintain lips and/or a jaw of the patient in a closed posture, and the sleep strip including a first layer comprising an adhesive configured to attach the sleep strip to the face of a patient, the first layer having an opening extending therethrough, the opening being located above the lips of the patient, and a mesh layer covering at least the opening of the first layer, the mesh layer being configured to allow air to flow therethrough; and disposing a device configured to facilitate stable breathing patterns on a face or in a mouth of the patient.
